Daily Inspiration: Meet Tiffany Betts

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Betts

Hi Tiffany, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Tiffany Lynn Betts, born Tiffany Hicks in the small town of Clarksdale, Mississippi, to my two wonderful parents, Oliver and Gardenia Hicks. I grew up with an older sister and a younger brother, and while my childhood was filled with love, like many families, we faced our share of challenges.

From a very young age, I fell in love with the arts. I started dance at the age of three, and creativity became a core part of who I was. My parents were both entrepreneurs, and my mother owned several boutiques in our town. I would watch her dress in beautiful clothes, always elegant and stylish. That was where my love for fashion began.

At nineteen, my life changed forever—I became a mother to my first child, Isaiah, who is now 30. Being a single mom shaped me in ways I never expected. I attended college but never completed my degree. Years later, I discovered that I was only two classes away from earning my bachelor’s degree. It’s something I still think about finishing one day.

Then, I fell in love with an incredible man named Derrix. Our journey together has been nothing short of amazing. We have been married for 23 years and share three beautiful children—Daniel (21) and twins Julia and Junia (20). From the moment Derrix entered my life, he embraced Isaiah as his own—there were no step-children, just our children. Today, I am beyond grateful for the family we’ve built and blessed to have gained a wonderful daughter-in-law, Jessica, through my oldest son’s marriage.

Life has brought both blessings and challenges, but through it all, God has been faithful. As a mother, I dedicated so much of myself to my family—making sure my husband succeeded, ensuring my children had happy, healthy lives, and keeping Jesus at the center of our home. Then, five years ago, as I sat on the couch, I had a realization: my time as a full-time stay-at-home mom was coming to an end. My children were heading off to college, and I was left with one pressing question for God:

“What do I do now?”

In that still moment, I heard three words spoken into my heart: See Me Beautiful.

And then, I felt the nudge—Start a blog. Share your story. Share your passion for dance and fashion. But more than that, create a space where women can see their beauty, their worth, and their purpose. A place where they are reminded that they are wonderfully made in the image of God and deeply loved by Him.

That’s how See Me Beautiful was born. And this is only the beginning.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My biggest challenge has been believing in myself and overcoming the fear that it was too late to start a new journey. For so many years, my entire identity revolved around being a wife and a mom. That was my world, and I never imagined stepping outside of it. But when I felt a pull in my heart to do something different, fear crept in—yet so did excitement.

I was thrilled at the thought of starting something for myself, but I had no idea how much I had to learn. At first, it seemed simple: start a blog, take some pictures, and figure out social media. But reality hit hard—I could barely work a computer, let alone navigate the digital world. I quickly realized I needed help. What I hadn’t fully considered was how this shift would impact my family. They were used to me being the constant, the one running the home, always available. And when I changed, everything changed. My marriage went through a roller coaster, and I hadn’t fully counted the cost of that transformation.

For the first time, I was chasing my own dreams, and that was both exhilarating and overwhelming. There were moments I wanted to quit—and honestly, I have quit at times. Five years later, See Me Beautiful isn’t where I envisioned it in terms of growth, but I have grown in ways I never imagined. I’ve learned so much, not just about blogging and business but about myself.

Today, my family is my greatest support system. They’ve been my rock, standing by me as I’ve evolved. Challenging yourself to change, to see life differently, is never easy. And putting my life out there for the world to see? That was even harder. But through it all, I’ve realized that God first took me on a journey of self-discovery—a journey of truly seeing myself as beautiful.

See Me Beautiful isn’t just about outer beauty; it’s about freedom. It’s about embracing your imperfections, refusing to let them hold you back, and recognizing that they are part of what makes you uniquely beautiful. I’m not perfect. Do I want all the likes, the followers, the recognition? Of course. But I’ve learned that while those things help my brand grow, they don’t define my worth. Because today, I see myself as beautiful, just as I am.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
See Me Beautiful is more than just a fashion blog—it’s a space where I encourage women to embrace their authentic selves and recognize their beauty inside and out. Through my blog, I share personal stories, my love for fashion, and unique style tips designed to inspire confidence and creativity.

Being an entrepreneur means wearing many hats, and I’ve learned to take on multiple roles—fashion blogger, photographer, writer, video editor, and so much more. Every piece of content I create is fueled by my passion for empowering women, reminding them that beauty isn’t just about what you wear—it’s about how you see yourself. And true beauty begins with knowing that you are wonderfully made in God’s image.

Through See Me Beautiful, I don’t just talk about fashion; I help women see their own radiance, strength, and uniqueness. That’s what drives me as a creator, a storyteller, and an entrepreneur.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
This is a great question—one I often reflect on. Unfortunately, I have yet to find a mentor on this journey. Mentors are invaluable, offering guidance, different perspectives, and wisdom from their own experiences. It’s something I’ve prayed about, asking God to send the right person into my life.

I’m not sure why I haven’t found a mentor yet, but I don’t feel it has held me back from learning and growing. For any entrepreneur, I’d recommend praying first for the right mentor and staying open to who that might be. In the meantime, I’ve taken it upon myself to seek knowledge however I can. Honestly, YouTube has been my university! I smile as I say that, but it’s true—I’ve pushed myself to keep learning, even on days when I’ve felt alone in this journey. Ultimately, it’s been my trust in God that has sustained me every step of the way.
