Today we’d like to introduce you to Tim Lease.
Hi Tim, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started doing tattoos seven years ago when I lived near the beach in Melbourne. I graduated with my master’s in fine art, and being covered in tattoos myself and loving them, it just made sense to make this career move. I think tattoos are an extremely brave act that commits someone to showing pieces of their soul to the world. It could be someone you loved that is tattooed and represented on you or something you love and care about deeply. Some of my tattoos show the world pieces of me that you would never know, and for this reason, I love that I can do this for others.
I own my tattoo studio here in Winter Park, FL: Golden Tarot Ink Club. I combined a fusion of love for storytelling with tarot cards and tarot card art with tattoos to develop my shop and brand. Tarot cards often represent part of our soul, thing we want to do and become and tattoos can represent these as well. I also am the proud Cat Dad of six cats, one dog, and a butterfly garden. My girlfriend is, The Tattooed Bride, and she captures brides with tattoos at weddings and elopements, as well as working alongside me in the shop to manage my crazy schedule and our studio! We’ve kind of built the perfect life together, and it is so authentically us! Our team of artist at my studio is amazing and everyone believes and cares about tattoos as much as I do.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There was so much to learn when I started tattooing, and it has taken me years to develop the skills I have now. But it’s something I love so much.
