Hello Viral The DJ, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up listening to R&B and immediately fell in love with music as a whole, my DJing journey started in 2017. My passion for music & the energy I bring to my shows is how the name Viral came about. I chose Viral because ideas & initiatives can spread rapidly. My main goal as a DJ is to create a good vibe and most importantly to spread positivity. I’ve learned as a DJ, that we as people have more in common than our differences and music is a way we connect.
Viral wasn’t given to me because it’s a cool name! Viral was giving to me because of the message, the feeling, the positivity, and the energy that I give to Humanity! My mission as a DJ is to gather the masses and preach the true meaning of love, joy, peace, etc. through music. MUSIC CHOSE ME and I will pass on the knowledge and wisdom that I gain every day because people look up to me. I have the Voice to Change generations!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Everybody’s journey is different, but the obstacles I had were things that weren’t taught to us.
The proper paperwork you need, such as an LLC/Scorp, insurance, business bank accounts, and taxes/tax write-offs.
That’s just on the business side but on the DJing side, there was how to read a crowd, what music to play, what equipment you need, where to get your music, how weddings are run and the biggest one for me, how much you charge.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
So as a DJ, you are an Artist. The way you mix music is a form of Art. From the way you transition a song to the music you play. Whatever your style is as a DJ is unique to you. Find your niche and stick with it and improve it to the best of your capability.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Playing outside till the lights came on. Lol, man those were the good old days. Just being a kid and enjoying the kids in the neighborhood
