Today we’d like to introduce you to Vonda Ridley Parker.
Hi Vonda, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I have always planned and coordinated events from a very young age, not knowing at the time I would become a Certified International Event Planner over the years! Being and Event Planner has it rewards. At the end of the Day, you are helping someone accomplish a vision, whether it’s a Wedding, Corporate Event, or Social Event. Just knowing you helped them reach their goal and vision is satisfaction!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I am always asked the question if the Road has been easy and smooth and my answer is always…NO! Nothing in life worth having is an easy or smooth road. As I am saying this, I am reflecting on my road map that I have put in place for any Dream or Vision that has been placed within me to give birth to. Some reading this may not understand the terminology of giving birth to a vision, so let me explain. In my Religious beliefs, I have been given a vision to create and plan so that’s what I have given birth to. I am thankful for the Gift that I have been given and do not take it for granted. I am thankful for every experience I had and have, the good and the not so good because I learn what to do and what not to do. I have learned to have patience and to listen. I have learned each client vision is their vision and not my vision and last, I have learned to just have Faith and Believe that what is for me is for me and no one can take it away!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We specialize in planning, coordinating, and being a beacon of light to others. I am not sure what sets me apart from others. I do not like to compare because everyone that own and operate a business or organization was given a vision. The most important factor to me and our business is that we are a Family-owned business that put God first before everything we do in our business and in the community. We strongly support and give back to the youth and the young adults in Central Florida. Not only do we own and manage an Event Planning Business, we are the Founders of VMAX For One Community Inc. a Youth Creative Arts Program Not For Profit 501c3 Organization… We believe in helping each youth reach their highest potential through our Fashion Runway Modeling Program and Retail Visual Merchandising Program. We also partner with other not for profits through our Event Planning services to help them raise funds for their organizations. I believe in networking to help businesses and organizations grow and be successful. We are also the Founders of Fashion Designers Runway Showcase where we feature Fashion Designers and Runway Models on our Runways. Fashion Designers and Runway Models have a Gift and Talent that sometimes go overlooked and we started this Event that has now advanced to a Traveling Runway Showcase to Spotlight these Talented Gifted Artist! I am not sure what I like to be known for but I know what I LOVE to do and that is to help someone else.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I believe a Company or Organization should always plan for growth and adding new and exciting ideas under their business umbrella. Each day is a new Day and each Day brings exciting visions and ideas to me! I am just very careful on how I implement them. I first start with a written road map to help me along the way. YES! we are always planning to be Bigger and Better each day for every year!
