Daily Inspiration: Meet Yasmine

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yasmine.

Hi Yasmine, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve always been the go-to person for planning things—whether it was a family get-together, or a work party. I’d love to plan events (I throw myself a big birthday party every year all because I love the planning part of it!). After spending 16 years in the hospitality world, I learned a ton about customer service, staying calm when things get hectic, and how to make people feel truly taken care of. About three years ago, I decided to take my love for organizing and details to the next level and start my own event planning business. It’s been a whirlwind—in the best way! I genuinely love helping people turn their ideas into reality and making sure they can enjoy their day while I take care of everything behind the scenes.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road (I wish!!)—this industry can be as unpredictable as the weather on event day (especially in Florida)! One of the biggest challenges has been navigating the seasonal nature of events. Some months are packed, and others are quieter, which took some getting used to. Another learning curve was figuring out how to handle last-minute changes—whether it’s a vendor canceling, weather not cooperating for an outdoor setup, or a timeline getting completely flipped the day of. I’ve also had to learn how to set boundaries with clients while still providing amazing service, which can be hard when you genuinely want everything to be perfect for them. But through it all, I’ve become more confident, creative, and resourceful—and I’ve learned that a good attitude, a backup plan (or three), and strong relationships with vendors can get you through just about anything.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As an event planner, I help bring people’s visions to life—from the big picture to the tiniest details. I specialize in weddings and social events, and I’m known for being super organized, funny, calm under pressure, and genuinely passionate about making each event feel personal and meaningful. I love taking the stress off my clients so they can actually enjoy their day, knowing everything is being handled behind the scenes. What I’m most proud of is the trust I build with my clients—they know I’ve got their back no matter what. I think what sets me apart is my background in hospitality. I’ve learned how to anticipate needs, stay calm in the chaos, and treat every client like they’re the most important person in the room—because they are!

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I think luck has definitely played a role—both good and bad—but I also believe it’s what you do with those moments that really matters. I’ve had lucky breaks, like meeting the right people at the right time or having a last-minute booking turn into one of my favorite events ever. But I’ve also faced challenges that felt like bad luck in the moment—canceled events, unexpected weather, dealing with difficult clients or things totally out of my control. Looking back, even those “unlucky” moments pushed me to be more patient, and creative. I’ve learned that in this industry, flexibility is everything. So while luck has definitely shown up along the way, I think hard work, consistency, and a positive attitude have played an even bigger role in where I am today. It definitely shaped me to be who I am today! I’ve learned so much!
