Today we’d like to introduce you to Mováge Events.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
We’ve always been the go-to, unofficial “event planners” in our family and in our group of friends. Our calling was clear, but the path to it was a bit blurry… and of course, there is no such thing as “perfect timing”. We knew if we let our fear take control, we would never leap! Though at the time we both had toddlers, new babies AND full time jobs, we still decided to embark on this adventure together to forge a special path of our own with the hope that others would allow us to be a part of their special life’s moments! We have different styles and perspectives on things which is what makes this dynamic duo so special. On top of it all, we are sisters, working together as family and we can never sugar coat things by saying it’s all gravy, cause we have our moments! However, from the very beginning, we made a promise to each other that family comes first, no matter what and we truly believe that is the backbone to our brand. We have love and respect for one another… as sisters, as family and as partners.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting a business and being entrepreneurs is no easy feat and can seem like an inundating journey to embark upon. Add the fact that we are women and minorities to the mix, and things can seem a bit more cumbersome. Oh, did we mention that we are wives AND mothers too… whew, what were we thinking!
Some of the obstacles that we’ve encountered along the way are: Knowing what resources are available to a new business and how to access those resources. How to market and brand your company in such a demanding and ever-changing social media environment. And one struggle that we still haven’t quite mastered yet is finding that balance between career and personal life.
These obstacles to some can seem like a deterrent to chasing after your dreams. But through our faith, determination, and perseverance, we’ve turned fear into courage and embarked on a hopeful path of building a legacy that our little ones will one day be proud of. When you realize your purpose, nothing will get in the way of your goals to achieve success!
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We often get the question, who or what is Mováge and what does it mean. Then we proudly look at each other, laugh and reply… MOVÁGE (pronounced Mo-váj) is a blend of old and new. The combination of vintage with modern-day contemporary as it applies to life, socialization and all things PARTY! It’s not just a word, it’s a lifestyle!
As creative designers and planners, we are inspired by the world around us and we see beauty in everything! We love creating unique designs and celebrations for savvy clients who crave to go beyond the standard!
While we have no prejudice to any event, we truly have a fond love and passion for hosting kids’ parties! They are our favorite parties to plan! It is our commitment that our clients save valuable time, energy and enjoy having a stress-free event experience with the Mováge team.
What makes you happy?
That’s easy… Faith, Family, Food, Fun… and in that order! lol We are passionate about our 4 F’s!
