Hi Aaron, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
In 2024, I launched Premier Concierge Pediatrics PLLC – A family-forward concierge pediatrics practice that provides customized care, exclusively in the home. I’m a Central Florida native, born in Orlando and raised in Longwood. I attended college and medical school at University of Miami (FL). I then completed Pediatrics residency and Neonatology fellowship at Northwestern University in Chicago. I returned to Orlando immediately after training to accept a Neonatology position at Nemours Children’s Hospital. After 3 years there, I decided to pivot away from inpatient hospital medicine and start my own Direct Primary Care (DPC) pediatrics practice. In general, DPC is similar to the classic concierge model that often limits the number of patients per provider to provide more availability and also affords the ability to contact your provider directly. However, with DPC, the monthly or annual membership fee is all-inclusive, meaning that each individual touchpoint (I.e. sick visit, weekend/evening phone call) does not come at cost. Premier Concierge Pediatrics operates as a hybrid DPC model, using insurance benefits for certain things, such as vaccines, medications, labs, and/or imaging. However, we have effectively removed general pediatrics care from the patient’s insurance plan, elevating those services for our patient’s family.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I’m in a relatively unique space as a mobile concierge pediatrician and have had to think creatively with how I want to grow my practice. I’ve had difficulty scaling and hiring other providers. I’ve also had challenges obtaining vaccines in a cost-effective way.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I’m a board-certified General Pediatrician that provides customized concierge in-home care. I’m also a board-certified Neonatologist, which means I specialize in newborn and perinatal care. My practice aims to support all family goals through education and mutual respect. I want readers to know that we prioritize availability and convenience. I want to form long-term relationships with my patients and their families.
How do you think about luck?
In my medical career, I’ve experienced some “bad luck,” specifically regarding my expectations and reality from a career in inpatient medicine. My previous Neonatology career did not afford much work-life balance, and I felt that I was struggling as both a father and husband. The job was exceptionally challenging, and this move towards starting Premier Concierge Pediatrics was essentially a move of necessity. In hindsight, I am so grateful for this opportunity – This has already proven to be a positive transition.
