Exploring Life & Business with Adam Brown of Ranger Tree Care

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adam Brown.

Hi Adam, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started the business in February 2022 after spending the previous year recovering from PTSD as a result of multiple tours to Iraq with the 3/75 Ranger Battalion. I was born in Winter Park, Florida, and grew up in Lake Mary, Florida with 2 other brothers and a sister. I have been married for nearly 12 years and have 2 children ages 10 and 11 and could not have done this without their support. I began working in the tree business with a friend after struggling to maintain employment and discovered a passion for working in the outdoors. I spent 8 years working within the tree industry learning the various positions within the company while spending my spare time at the VA hospital working through my PTSD. This year the time had finally arrived to go my own way and start a company led by a veteran, and with the goal of supporting the local community by providing excellent tree service. As the company continues to grow, I would like to hire other veterans and future military hopefuls as a way of supporting the military community and giving back in any way possible.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The biggest struggles along the way have been confronting the PTSD that I have battled for the past 20 years of my life. This often showed itself through drug addiction, depression, and a lack of motivation to follow through with any goals.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Ranger Tree Care is a full-service tree company offering everything from emergency tree services to trimming and basic maintenance. Lately, we have found a specialization that lies between landscaping and tree work with helping homes that have severely overgrown landscaping. Our team comes in and does full-scale clean-ups of the property and leave homeowners with a baseline for them to be able to maintain their property.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I have been thrilled beyond words to be able to offer these tree services to our local community as well as to provide a fulfilling work opportunity to the people have been working on my team.
