Absolutely. The vision for Exclusive Cleaning Services LLC began with me. I had years of hands-on experience—working as a Plant Manager in the construction industry, managing crews, driving trucks, and even supporting family members in the janitorial space. I wasn’t afraid to get my hands dirty, and I knew I had the work ethic to build something of my own.
At the time, my goal wasn’t to build a company—it was to be self-employed and replace my job. I approached my wife, Jessica, with the idea of starting a janitorial business because I believed we could create something stable for our family. I had the vision and industry experience; she had the structure, systems, and strategy. Together, we got to work.
With consistent execution—and guidance from organizations like SCORE Orlando and the MBDA—we began to grow. Before we knew it, we weren’t just creating income for ourselves; we were building a company that was creating jobs for others.
Today, ECS is a trusted partner for high-compliance cleaning solutions across Central Florida, and we’re proud of the team, impact, and legacy we’re continuing to build—one client, one contract, and one decision at a time.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not at all—it’s been anything but smooth. Starting Exclusive Cleaning Services was a leap of faith. In the beginning, I was still working long hours in construction while trying to build the business at night. We were cleaning buildings ourselves, managing client calls, and figuring things out as we went.
One of the biggest challenges was transitioning from being self-employed to becoming a true business owner. That shift came with a steep learning curve—understanding operations, managing people, navigating compliance, and building systems. It wasn’t just about doing the work anymore; it was about leading a company.
We’ve had moments of tight cash flow, equipment failures, and hiring missteps. There were seasons of burnout, especially when it felt like we were doing everything ourselves. But those challenges forced us to grow, get clearer, and build something stronger.
It hasn’t been easy—but every obstacle helped shape the business we’re proud of today. And we’re just getting started.
