Today we’d like to introduce you to Angharad Livingston
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My passion for food started when I was around 8 years old and I would indulge in reading cookbooks and watch the early morning cooking shows while my family was still sleeping. I would start cooking full course meals all before 10am lol, and from there i would start cooking for dinner parties for my family and their friends. My time in the kitchen at an early age sparked the joy I found in serving others, being able to cook for my family and friends was always a comfort for me to this day. Once i went to college the cooking didn’t stop, while i was a resident assistant i would cook meals for the students on my floor and even friends would stop by for a meal. I attended culinary school where i got my culinary degree, while taking an intro to baking class is where i discovered my true passion for baking. Baking allows me to be as free and creative as i could be, while creating works of art. I still enjoy cooking, but baking is where i found joy. Today and over 15yrs later Sugar City Sweets has blossomed and the love i receive from my customers is overwhelming, with the constant support i receive from family and friends the sky is the limit to where we are going.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Being an entrepreneur will never be a smooth ride, there are times where business is booming and trying to catch your breath from the consistent business. Then you have moments where business has slowed down and you’re trying to find new ways to get new clients. It’s during those slow times where learn new techniques and continue to educate yourself within the field that you are in.

Sugar City Sweets is a modern and luxury bakery, I specialize in floral cakes.
I love the freedom and flexibility of being to create works of art just using buttercream and fresh florals. I don’t just make cakes but i also offer cupcakes, letter/number cakes, mini desserts, and also cookies.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Follow your heart and just start!!!! Figure out what you truly love to do, don’t feel like you should be an expert just coming into the field even i still take the time to perfect the things i need to do to better my craft. Your friends and family are the perfect people to try out new ideas and get their feedback on what to perfect.
