Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna Muniz.
Hi Anna, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was encouraged and inspired by my late mother who always told me I had eye for design and party planning. She herself was an amazing pastry chef who created beautiful wedding cakes in New York. This is when it all began. I helped my mom design and plan a sweet sixteen for a family friend’s daughter. At the time, I was only 19 and fell in love with the idea of becoming a party planner. Soon after was my brother’s wedding and I was asked to be his planner. At the time, my brother was stationed at a US Army base in Missouri and his fiancé in Syracuse, NY where the wedding was going to be. I resided in Raleigh, NC – talk about challenging! Despite the distance, I did everything in my power to create an unforgettable celebration for my brother, which solidified my desire to become a wedding planner. Since then, I have designed and planned hundreds of events from weddings to baby showers. We truly enjoy every moment we are planning and creating memories for our clients.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Believe me, when I say, it has not been easy. At the beginning of my career, I struggled working an unfulfilling 8-hour shift job. It was monotonous and very difficult as I struggled as a single mom of two young boys. To juggle my love of party and wedding planning while working and taking care of my boys was overwhelming, but I did I and it’s been worthwhile. My sons are now married men and in the military. I met my dear husband, a military vet, 18 years ago and it was difficult before meeting him to do it all. I am a very proud military mom and wife!
