Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Cortes.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My partner (in business and in life) and I started Motion Flix right in the middle of the 2020 Global Pandemic. At the time, I recently closed my very first business, Trend Studios Salon in Downtown Orlando, and I was in search of a new business venture. I always loved creating a space where people came together as a community and I knew that I wanted to create the same type of space in my next business. Unfortunately because of the circumstances, people were not able to gather safely and it was tough for anyone to have a social life during a time where such an aggressive virus was taking over our world. My partner, Robert Figueroa, and I really wanted to create something to give people an opportunity to gather in the most social responsible way and we knew whatever that was had to be out in the fresh outdoors where transmission is low risk and there is plenty of space for proper social distancing. In October 2020, this is how Motion Flix was born during very difficult circumstances. Motion Flix is an outdoor entertainment company specializing in large screens. We bring the movie theater, sporting hall, karaoke lounge, video game party, and many more events to an outdoor space. What sets our business apart from other screen rental companies is we provide a full-service experience with our Flix Attendants that service the entire event so the host can enjoy the experience as much as their guests! Fast forward to a year later, we now have the Motion Flix Experience in Orlando, Miami, Los Angeles, and San Diego. Our business has transformed into more than what we could never imagine doing events such as music video premieres, movie premiere events, corporate events, and many more! To this day, we build our events with one common goal: To provide a great experience in the comfort of someone’s own space with the people they love.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has been far from a smooth road for us. The business not only tested our lives personally, but it also tested our relationship since we are partners in life as well. The good news is Motion Flix has brought us closer in ways we never imagined. Like any new business, we have invested everything that has come in back into the business to get better equipment and build new territories so we can not only perfect what we do but also share our experience with more people. We are now building our business from the East Coast to the West Coast which requires lots of traveling and with that also comes a lot of adjusting but we are enjoying the ride!

Motion Flix is an outdoor entertainment company that specializes in events with large screens. We bring the movie theater, sporting hall, karaoke lounge, video game, and other types of events to the comfort of your own space. We are mainly known for our movie nights that include concession attendants (like in the old Hollywood-Style Theater days) that pass out nostalgic candies, beverages, and popcorn throughout the event. We also bring comfy pull-out sofas, blankets, and silent disco headphones to make it a super comfortable and immersive experience for our guests. What sets us apart from other screen rental companies is that we bring a fully serviced experience for the client. We include a walkthrough prior to the event so we are prepared the day of and we even create marketing material such as flyers and invites for the event. I would say the biggest thing we are proud of is our five-star service. I always remind our team that we are a service company first. We really take pride in making sure the client is supported throughout the event process and can enjoy their time as much as their guests.

Service and being a good team leader both come first to me always when building a business. The most memorable thing for me as a customer has always been how I was treated throughout my experience with the business. I want to make people feel good about their decision on choosing us for their special evening. I really try to ensure that not only the client feels appreciated but also our team. We grow within the company always so as Motion Flix grows, so do our employee’s positions.
