Hi Arturo, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Arturo De Larrea, 27 Travel and Aviation geek. I’ve been always passionate about travel and other cultures. At the age of 21, I moved to Qatar to become a cabin crew in one of the world’s best airlines. There, I had the opportunity to live with other cultures, traveling to more than 63 countries and hundreds of cities I never imagined I would step in.
The adventure was great for the first years, the emotion and sike of adventure were present in most of my layovers around the world. Leaving my breath away in places like Cape Town in the Table Mountain or the Great Wall of China. Having layovers with breakfast in Paris but in the evening having minimum rest to go to Southeast Asia. The lifestyle was great but in my mind, I was always thinking about what was next. The idea of the future was there always after seeing a career in aviation is too weak. The pandemic, crazy rosters, and crazy company rules made me think about moving to a different airline.
So I did after four and a half years left my life again and for the third time I packed everything in my suitcase and moved to the UAE with the idea of continuing flying with better working conditions as a Cabin Crew than in Qatar. There I found out that self-love and personal freedom to decide what was best for me are more important. And in reality, my goal was to work in tourism but from a different position, where I would be able to develop all my abilities.
Returned home, and got questioned about leaving a job I was happy in pictures, but on the inside trapped in crazy rules and getting lost in somebody I wasn’t in reality. So I returned to base and restarted the project with an amazing team who was taking over the business while far away. Seven Stars Travel and Tours is a travel consulting agency that has the best of Mexican – American values, taking the best in touristic service from the world.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. It’s been crazy difficult to return and realize life changed while you left. That all the memories you had about the past are there, and that nothing ever comes back.
Learned that nothing is forever so we have to be happy about that. Learned too, that we all do not have the same power of resilience and we have to stand for those who cannot stand that easily.
