Hi Beatriz, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’m originally from Venezuela, and my journey into wellness began with a deep passion for helping others feel better — inside and out. After moving to the U.S. and becoming a licensed esthetician and massage therapist, I saw a real need for more personalized and accessible care, especially for people with busy lives or recovering from surgery.
That inspired me to create Opal Skin Spa, a mobile spa service based in Orlando, Florida. What began with just me and a massage table has grown into a trusted brand focused on therapeutic massage, post-op care, and skin treatments — all delivered with a warm, personal touch.
Being a Latina entrepreneur has shaped my mission: to bring healing, confidence, and self-care to our community, one client at a time.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road — but every challenge has helped shape the business into what it is today.
Starting a mobile spa as an immigrant and solo entrepreneur came with a lot of obstacles: learning how to navigate the licensing process in a new country, building a client base from scratch, and wearing all the hats — from marketing and booking to treatment and follow-up. There were slow seasons, self-doubt, and moments where I questioned if it would work.
But every struggle also came with growth. I learned to be more resourceful, more patient, and more connected to my purpose. What kept me going was my clients — seeing the relief on someone’s face after a massage or the confidence boost after a facial reminded me why I started.
And while there’s always more to learn and improve, I’m proud of how far I’ve come and excited for what’s next.
