Today we’d like to introduce you to Blandina Goncalves.
Hi Blandina, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My family and I moved to this country from Angola back in 2003. We certainly did not speak English. Moving to this country was a blessing. My family did not come from a wealthy background. My parents sacrificed a lot to bring us here. Pursuing a better education and job opportunities for us was my parent’s goal. While applying to Physician Assistant school, I realized that I needed a hobby or something to occupy myself with. I researched and found body sculpting to be amusing. I researched even more about the business and decided to invest. I took numerous of courses, e-books, and training on starting a business. I also took numerous of marketing courses. Moreover, I took my body sculpting training at FAMA. An accredited beauty school located in Pembroke Pines, FL. After a year of planning and studying, I felt confident to start my Body Sculpting business. I officially launched Body By Blandina on August 18th, 2021. I applied everything I learned and my launch was a success. I received countless support from family, friends, and my clients. Body By Blandina provides non-surgical and non-invasive body sculpting / contouring treatments. We specialize in fat reduction, skin tightening, cellulite treatment, and butt enhancement. Our treatments are affordable and rich in customer service. Our goal is to help people look their best. We also aim for our clients to feel comfortable in their skin. Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting Body By Blandina has been a struggle. It is difficult to work a 9 to 5. Attend Surgical Technology school. Attend Esthetician school, and run a small business. I’ve been learning to organize myself and make a list of everything I need to do. I use the money from my 9 to 5 job to invest in my small business. I also have the help of my fiancé, Michael. We have been together for four years. Besides my family and friends, Michael has been my biggest support system. I honestly enjoy what I do. I look forward to seeing my clients and just seeing their reaction after a treatment brings jot to my heart.

My mentor’s name is Mychell Brewington. She is a body sculpting specialist that resides in Virginia. We never met in person but she has helped me a lot virtually. Her business page on Instagram is @chellyjaefit.
My sisters: Cleo, Marisol and Paula have been very supportive. My friends: Prisca, Femi, Vanessa, Antonio and Sherline have been there from the start. They repost my business every chance they get.
Besides helping me with everything else, my fiancé passes out my business flyers at his job. My parents always check on me and offer any help they can give. My clients have also been a great support system. They refer their family and friends to us. All of them have been motivating me to keep going…
