Cherise, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started my travel business on one simple thought… I love to travel! I love experiencing different peoples, foods, music, and cultures from right here in the United States and all over the world. A few months ago, I begun a process of self-reflection with the goal of rediscovering my interests and passions. Needless to say, traveling was at the top of my list! In addition to booking travel adventures for others, I can also plan adventures for myself and loved ones and get paid while doing it! I also get to share my love of travel with my children and help open their eyes to the world and people around them!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has NOT been a smooth road! It was certainly a challenge acquiring clients in the beginning, partly because of the pandemic we are in, but also because there are many who don’t see the need to hire a travel agent if they can book their trips on their own! What they fail to realize is that when they “book on their own”, a portion of the cost goes to an unknown agent! When you hire a travel agent, you know who is receiving the agent fees AND you don’t have to “book on your own”! I take care of all the research and details for you!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
All Set World Travels is a travel agency that specializes in planning Caribbean vacations. I am a native of the beautiful island of Jamaica. I have also spent time traveling to other neighboring Caribbean islands. I simply LOVE to travel! This love has developed into a desire to plan memorable experiences for others as well. My love for travel has expanded pass the Caribbean and led me to explore numerous countries around the world. Given my background, I’m confident in my ability to plan amazing getaways to the Caribbean or wherever my clients desire to go, stress-free!
We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
I have learned to be patient and to persevere. It takes time, patience, and hard work to build a business, especially in a pandemic. My business offers a sense of normalcy, adventure, and excitement that is so needed at this time.
