Exploring Life & Business with Corolla Johnson of MC7 Collection

Today we’d like to introduce you to Corolla Johnson

Hi Corolla, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My passion for hairstyling was ignited in my aunt’s salon back in Jamaica, where i first fell in love with the craft. After moving to the United States, my now best friend got me a job at a very popular beauty supply called “ Beauty Exchange “ where I started to receive clients straight from the hair store, so I continued my hairstyling journey but also expanded my business to include selling hair, products, and wigs. I was told have a great online presence and a unique style so I also do content creating all over social media occasionally.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I must say in the early part of my career it was not too bad it took a while seeing that I was in a new country where I knew no one so I had to start all over to get new clients which I enjoyed because it was great timing for me to perfect my craft,
I do not consider myself a businesswoman so as far as the MC7 collection product line, I had a great business partner and team to help me with that, unfortunately, my business partner and I parted ways, which had me depressed for a long time I had to come to the realization that I was now on my own . I eventually started to learn how to conduct my business all on my own and while it’s still not perfect up to this day, I am still trying and I’m still learning . I am still so grateful for everyone who had help me along the way

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
MC7 Collection is me and I am it . MsCorolla7 is my social name and I offer a Collection of different services hence “MC7 Collection “ I wanted my business to be universal so whether I’m providing a service or selling products, it could all be under MC7 collection , in the city I’m known for my specialty in anything lace related this includes lace, wigs, lace frontal, lace closures, etc. I’m your girl .
I think what sets me apart from the others is my continuous drive to excel as a hairstylist the passion and love I have for my craft is like no other and my clients can feel it, I also try my very best to execute my clients needs the best way I can every time.
I am most proud of seeing how I came all the way from Jamaica to the United States and I did exactly what I said I wanted to do , I got the opportunity to make a name for myself. I got the opportunity to start my own product line. I got the opportunity to work with celebrity clients and I got the opportunity to travel and do what I love.
As I said, I wanted my brand to be universal so coming soon I will start adding clothing and accessories to my website as part of my Collection

What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love Orlando it’s so central, I like that it’s a great mix of all different cultures here in the city, Orlando has developed so much and apart from Disney there is so much more things to enjoy here . All these new restaurants, lounges and activities i can always find something to do or take friends that are visiting and it’s only a a hour away from the beach. Also with this new Brightline train it made it so convenient to travel to Miami with ease . The only thing I dislike right now is the current living situation for a lot of people it’s so sad the rent here is getting too high , the houses are no longer affordable for most and this situation is creating so much more homeless citizens it’s so sad I see them every under the bridge and they grow in numbers by each day.
