Hi Crissie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
After graduating from college with a teaching degree, I taught abroad for two years in Colombia. After being in Colombia for a couple of years, I decided it was time for me to come home. I taught in Orlando for another year and realized that there was something missing; I wanted a different lifestyle for myself. I have always been a go-getter and knew that the sky is the limit. So, why not try something different while I am young and hungry. I stepped into the retail world and immediately went into management. The hustle and bustle of it was just something I was longing for, plus the challenges along the way were all true learning experience, that have helped me start my own business.
After running a department on my own, the idea of starting my own business was farfetched, but it was something I always dreamed of. In 2021 everything changed when I found out I was bringing a bundle of joy into this world. The retail world and the hours were nearly impossible to work around with a newborn. After looking into a couple of businesses, I dug a little bit deeper into the tattoo removal process and fell in love with it. I get to help people that have unwanted tattoos are remove them!! We opened our doors about a year ago and have helped over 75 people start the removal/fading process.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Opening a business is exciting, but it’s also nerve-wracking at the same time. You have to think of every single detail from social media, managing finances, managing clients’ expectations, etc. I am learning something new every single day on how to run a successful business. As I learn, the more questions I ask, the more questions I ask the more people I meet along the way! It was been a bumpy road as I learn to navigate a brand-new business, but I am excited to see how my business is bringing light into the community!
