Today we’d like to introduce you to Douglas Abreu
Hi Douglas, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My school began in Venezuela in 2012. I arrived in the United States in 2017 and started working at another karate school in 2018. In 2021, I decided to open my school by renting by the hour at the location we currently have, until the opportunity arose to start the premises for ourselves in the same year. To date, we have national and state world champions.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, the road has not been easy, it has been a bit tortuous due to people’s envy, due to difficulties in the arrival of new students, but we have managed to get ahead.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We are a Japanese Shotokan Karate school, directed by me, an instructor with more than 10 years of experience and who was an athlete with more than 15 years of experience in high competition, we prepare children, young people, and adults, to face the challenges that life puts us to constantly improve and respect others, we intend to contribute to the values that parents give their children, and then in size show what they are made of. That they are professionals and good students and then become champions. Our school has champions at all levels, national, state, and world.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I look very tough on the outside but I have a heart full of beautiful feelings, and it is not difficult for me to cry with emotion.
