At first, I worked for others. I learned the ins and outs of customer care, treatments, and the powerful emotional impact of helping someone feel good in their skin. But deep down, I dreamed of creating something of my own—a spa that didn’t just offer services, but gave people a sense of home, comfort, and confidence.
That dream became real when I opened Ekaterina Spa & Laser Hair Removal in Lake Mary, Florida.
I started small: just me, my machines, and a lot of passion. I managed everything—treatments, scheduling, marketing, social media, even folding towels! It wasn’t easy. I had to learn how to be not only a technician, but a businesswoman, a strategist, and a brand.
Today, I proudly serve clients from Lake Mary, Winter Park, Orlando, Deltona, and beyond. Whether it’s laser hair removal, skin rejuvenation, or massage therapy, every treatment is personal to me. Every client is part of my story.
And this is just the beginning.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not!
Starting my spa meant stepping into the unknown. I had the skills, but running a business—from marketing to pricing to social media—was a whole new world. I struggled with visibility, slow weeks, and self-doubt.
But every challenge taught me something. I learned, adjusted, and kept going. What kept me motivated were my clients—their trust, their results, and the confidence they gained. It hasn’t been easy, but it’s been worth it.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
My biggest advice is: don’t be afraid to ask for help, and don’t wait for the “perfect” mentor to show up. Sometimes, mentorship doesn’t come as one formal person—it comes through conversations, collaborations, and even social media connections.
For me, what worked best was reaching out to others in the beauty and wellness industry—even locally. I introduced myself to other small business owners, supported their work, and many were happy to share tips or encouragement in return. I’ve learned a lot from estheticians, marketing professionals, and even my own clients who run businesses.
