Today we’d like to introduce you to Filipe Nascimento
Hi Filipe, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My career began with a great passion for design and architecture. From an early age, I have always been fascinated by how spaces are planned and structured. So, I decided to pursue a career as a technical draftsman and began my studies in architectural design.
Start of the journey:
In the beginning, I learned the basic concepts of technical drawing and started working with AutoCAD, Sketchup and other traditional tools, such as drawing boards and rulers. I studied civil engineering at college, and fell in love with the use of technology in design, and that’s when I started exploring the world of 3D modeling and BIM (Building Information Modeling). This opened new doors for creating more complex and interactive projects, and I realized this was the direction I wanted to go.
Professional development:
After college, I started working at an architecture firm, where I was able to put what I learned into practice and also gain experience in real projects. Initially, I worked as a design assistant, but I soon became involved in larger projects, dealing with all stages, from data collection to final delivery. The experience helped me become more technical and organized.
Over time, I became specialized in using 3D modeling software, such as 3ds Max and unreal, which allowed me to create more detailed models and realistic visualizations. The transition from 2D to 3D drawings was a great challenge, but it was also very rewarding, as it brought a new dimension to my work.
At the moment:
Today, I work on several projects, both residential and commercial, and I continue to seek to learn and evolve. I’m very focused on maintaining quality and precision in my work, but I also love the creative and problem-solving part. Using tools like Unreal Engine has been an essential part of my routine, as it allows me to present projects in an interactive and immersive way to clients.
My journey was marked by a lot of learning, adaptations and a constant search for new solutions. Each project, each challenge, teaches me something new, and I feel like I am always evolving as a professional.
Today, I feel prepared to face even greater challenges, contributing with my experience and expertise to deliver increasingly innovative and successful projects.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The journey was definitely not entirely smooth. Like any professional journey, there were many challenges and obstacles along the way, but I believe that these difficult moments were fundamental to my growth.
Some of the biggest challenges I faced:
Adapting to new technologies: In the beginning, when I started working with 3D modeling and BIM, there was a significant learning curve. The tools were complex and the transition process from traditional drawings to advanced software was not easy. Adaptation required patience and dedication, and I often felt that it took longer than expected to produce results with the quality I wanted. However, practice and specialized courses helped me overcome these difficulties.
Managing deadlines and multiple projects: Working on multiple projects at the same time, especially with tight deadlines, was another big challenge. At the beginning of my career, I had difficulty organizing my tasks efficiently and, at times, I found myself overwhelmed. Learning to prioritize and manage time effectively was an ongoing process, but a crucial skill for maintaining quality work and meeting deadlines.
Feedback e ajustes no projeto: Outra dificuldade foi aprender a lidar com feedbacks, especialmente os mais críticos, de clientes e colegas de equipe. Em um projeto específico, tive que revisitar um design quase do zero, o que inicialmente me frustrou. No entanto, com o tempo, aprendi a encarar essas revisões como uma oportunidade de aprimorar meu trabalho e atender melhor às necessidades do cliente.
Concorrência e evolução do mercado: O mercado de design e arquitetura é muito competitivo, e, por mais que a experiência seja valiosa, a inovação constante também é essencial. A pressão para estar sempre atualizado com as últimas tendências e ferramentas foi um desafio, pois o setor evolui rapidamente. Mas, com o tempo, percebi que manter uma mentalidade de aprendizado contínuo me ajudou a não apenas acompanhar as mudanças, mas também a me destacar.
Apesar dessas dificuldades, cada obstáculo me ensinou algo valioso e me ajudou a me tornar o profissional que sou hoje. Acho que os desafios fazem parte do processo de crescimento, e, sem eles, talvez eu não tenha desenvolvido tantas habilidades cruciais para minha carreira.
