Exploring Life & Business with Giannina Negretti of Giannina Fitness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Giannina Negretti.

Hi Giannina, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My passion for training women began in Argentina ten years ago while studying physical education. In 2017, I moved to Miami where I became certified as a personal trainer and started my first business, Giannina Fitness, to train clients. As my business grew, I found myself working closely with women and really enjoyed playing a role as they become healthy, happy, and fit.

In 2018, my husband and I found out we were expecting our first child, and I took the opportunity to begin specialized fitness training for pregnant women and postpartum. This helped me train during my pregnancy in a healthy and safe way, and also helped me better understand my own body and the connection with the baby that was developing within me. Not to mention, the training I learned and practiced helped me tremendously during labor.

After my son was born, I decided I wanted to focus my personal training on women who were preparing for pregnancy, were currently pregnant, or were recent mothers. Shortly thereafter, my friends and acquaintances who became pregnant began to hire me to train them in their pregnancies and in postpartum reactivation.

Working with more and more pregnant and recent mothers confirmed my passion for accompanying women in this important, wonderful but also challenged, stage of life, and how physical activity helps to lead a more balanced and healthy life. I then began teaching Mommy and Me classes where I helped other moms progressively recover after delivery and have the ability to train and workout, without having to leave their babies.

In 2020 I moved to Orlando with my family, and currently, I am dedicated to accompanying women to feel strong, safe, confident, and empowered on this beautiful path of motherhood from preconception to postpartum.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Well, without a doubt the pandemic made Giannina Fitness take a turn with a need to adapt to the circumstances.

Before the pandemic, I was teaching 100% in person by going to the gyms or homes of clients, but as was true for many people, the pandemic forced and created the need for us to explore new ways of presenting personal training virtually. It was difficult at the beginning because women were used to having me in person and training in a virtual was new and difficult for some.

But little by little, we adapted and expanded our services to the virtual environment which gave me the possibility to train women in other cities and countries, thus opening new paths and challenges for the company.

We’ve been impressed with Giannina Fitness, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Giannina Fitness specializes in personalized training for women in, and near, recent motherhood.

I focus on comprehensively preparing both women who are looking to get pregnant, as well as those who are already on the road to pregnancy and those who gave birth and want to resume exercise safely. I offer virtual private sessions and face-to-face around the Winter Garden and Windermere area. I am also in the process of launching a program of pre-recorded classes so that pregnant women can train at whatever they want from the comfort of their homes.

All workout routines are planned according to the needs of each mother and focused not solely on the physical, but on the woman’s entire well-being, promoting rest, a balanced diet, and a harmonious emotional and mental connection.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
Training, pre, during and post-pregnancy, is an important support for women to face the physical, hormonal, mental, and emotional challenges that arise, in a harmonious way. As long as the exercise is done moderately, regularly, and in concert with what the body needs at all times, it brings great benefits to alleviating common pregnancy problems such as back pain, diastasis, posture problems, and constipation.

It also strengthens the cardiovascular system increases the amount of oxygen in the body of both mother and baby and prevents diseases such as hypertension, preeclampsia, and gestational diabetes. Furthermore, exercise during pregnancy increases the feeling of well-being and helps with mood swings and stress. As if that wasn’t enough, facilitates labor, helps women maintain a healthy weight during pregnancy, and also lowers it more easily postpartum, thus improving the quality of rest and the overall lifestyle of the mother and baby.

It is recommended to do physical activity at least 30 minutes, three times a week to stay healthy and thus benefit your baby as well. I’m happy to share more with any woman, expectant mother, or new mom, so you can feel healthy, happy, and fit throughout your pregnancy journey.
