Exploring Life & Business with Gokhan Keskin of Buca Interior Solutions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gokhan Keskin.

Hi Gokhan, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Gokhan Keskin, and I am a PhD Interior Designer and the Managing Partner of Buca Interior Solutions, based here in Orlando. I’m originally from Turkey, and less than a year ago, my family and I took a leap of faith and moved to the United States to begin a new chapter, both personally and professionally.

Buca Interior Solutions is the result of over a decade of experience in interior architecture. For over 10 years in Turkey, I have designed residential and commercial spaces, combining creativity with technical expertise to deliver tailored solutions for my clients. Alongside my practice, I worked as a university lecturer, an experience I truly cherished. Teaching kept me grounded in the fundamentals, constantly updated with new trends, and inspired by the transformation of students into talented professionals.

Over the years, I developed a deep understanding of interior finishing materials and became skilled at evaluating quality to meet the high expectations of my clients. This also led to valuable collaborations with leading manufacturers—relationships that remain essential to my work today.

About two years ago, Nihat Yildirim, a close friend and now business partner, shared the idea of establishing a company in the United States. He brings a wealth of experience to the table, having spent 25 years as a manager at one of Turkey’s leading porcelain tile factories. Today, he owns three successful showrooms in the Aegean region of Turkey. With his strong background in the tile industry and our shared vision for quality design, I was immediately drawn to the opportunity.

Today, I manage Buca Interior Solutions with my wife, Silvia Rolla, a successful Italian Master Architect from Milan. Together, we form a strong, complementary design team. We are focused on growing our business by offering high-quality interior finishes, including flooring and wall coverings, as well as custom-made hardwood furniture. Our goal is to blend European craftsmanship with a personalized approach to design, helping our clients bring their visions to life.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road, and as a new business, we continue to navigate challenges as we grow and adapt. In Turkey, I had built a strong reputation over the years. I was well-known in my field, had established trust with clients, and created a successful and well-functioning business. But starting over in the United States meant letting go of all that familiarity and beginning again from zero.

One of the biggest challenges was understanding and adjusting to cultural and market differences. While many aspects of interior design are universal, others—like client expectations, business dynamics, and even communication styles—are significantly different. These were things I couldn’t fully anticipate before relocating to Orlando; they’ve been lessons learned through experience over the past year.

That said, I’ve always been someone who embraces challenges. I see them as opportunities for growth. The road is still uphill, but we are moving forward every day. With strong passion, commitment, and a clear vision, we’re steadily building something meaningful—and that’s what keeps us motivated.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
At Buca Interior Solutions, we specialize in providing high-quality interior finishes and custom design solutions for both homeowners and industry professionals. Our mission is to bring together the best in materials, design expertise, and personalized service—all under one roof.

We offer a curated selection of premium interior finishes, including porcelain tiles and slabs, marble tiles and pavers, LVT flooring, decorative wall panels, and terrazzo. All of our materials are imported directly from trusted European factories, which enables us to guarantee both quality and consistency while offering competitive pricing by eliminating intermediaries. Whether for residential renovations or large commercial projects, we aim to be a reliable source of beautiful, durable finishes that meet the highest standards.

A cornerstone of our business is our furniture line. We offer a refined collection of designer furniture as well as fully custom-made pieces, crafted from solid hardwood with exceptional attention to detail. Our furniture is handmade by skilled artisans, blending modern aesthetics with traditional craftsmanship. This allows us to deliver unique, timeless pieces tailored to each client’s needs—whether it’s for kitchens, wardrobes, vanities, or full interiors. This level of quality and customization is rare, and it’s something we’re truly proud to offer.

What sets Buca apart is our design-focused approach. We offer professional design consultations to clients who require assistance in visualizing their ideal space, including 2D layouts, 3D models, and immersive 360° views. Our goal is to simplify the design process, making it accessible, inspiring, and achievable for every client.

We are also committed to being a valuable resource for industry professionals—architects, interior designers, and contractors—by offering quality products, technical support, and a collaborative mindset. At Buca, it’s not just about selling materials—it’s about building lasting relationships and helping people design spaces they truly love.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Something that often surprises people is the level of personal involvement I have in every aspect of the business. From selecting materials and working on design concepts to meeting clients and developing visual presentations, I take a very hands-on role. I’m not just managing the company from behind the scenes—I’m actively engaged in the creative process every day.

This level of involvement isn’t just a business strategy—it comes from a genuine passion for design and craftsmanship. I derive genuine satisfaction from shaping each project and fostering close relationships with our clients. For me, it’s not just about running a business—it’s about doing what I love, with purpose and attention to detail.
