Today we’d like to introduce you to Jacqueline Allen
Hi Jacqueline, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
At 21 years old, I found myself in a situation many young moms can relate to—juggling a 6-month-old son, being a full-time college student, and the urgent need to make money to support my family. I applied for a job as a machine worker in a warehouse, thinking it was just another step to get by. But as luck would have it, the hiring manager saw something in me that I didn’t even see in myself at the time. Instead of the position I applied for, I was offered a front desk role. Little did I know, this opportunity would be the start of everything.
I was determined to learn as much as I could about the business and HR. My boss saw that drive in me and was more than willing to take me under her wing, teaching me everything she knew. Over the years, I worked my way up from being an HR assistant to managing a mental health and addiction counseling center—a position where I was earning more than colleagues who held advanced degrees. That was a defining moment for me, realizing that hard work and a willingness to learn could take me places even beyond formal education.
As my family grew, so did my knowledge base. I earned my degree in Business Management, hoping it would unlock even more opportunities. While it helped expand my responsibilities at work, I quickly realized it didn’t do much to increase my earning potential. That’s when I had a wake-up call. After 12 years in corporate America, I decided it was time to forge my own path. I wanted autonomy and the freedom to not have to choose between being a wife and mother or having a career. I wanted both, and I wanted more control over my time and income.
In 2018, I made the leap into entrepreneurship, starting my first business as a Travel Advisor. I quickly became known for my expertise in selling cruises and planning unique trips to Europe. But travel wasn’t my only passion. I wasn’t content with the idea of having just one career or source of income, so I launched a second business—a Virtual Assisting and Online Business Management Agency. I’ve always been passionate about helping other entrepreneurs, and through this business, I was able to assist small businesses with everything from setting up business processes to handling customer support and billing.
I even started an internship program and now serve over 30 clients with a team of my own. That business evolved even further, eventually expanding into medical billing and coding services for mental health providers. But I didn’t stop there. In 2024, I opened my first brick-and-mortar salon dedicated to body contouring, offering services like Cryo-facials and fat reduction treatments.
Along the way, I also developed a proprietary business process that I tested when my husband started his own business in 2021. His business, which I helped him build, actually surpassed mine in its first year, proving that my process worked.
Looking back, I realize how far I’ve come—from being a young mom just trying to make ends meet to building multiple successful businesses. I’ve never been one to settle or limit myself, and that drive has helped me create not only a career I love but a legacy I’m proud to pass down to my children.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a smooth road by any means. While I’m proud of everything I’ve accomplished, the journey has been filled with challenges. There have been countless long days and nights where I had to sacrifice time with my loved ones to keep everything running. Sleepless nights became the norm as I juggled the demands of being a mom, wife, and business owner.
There were times I questioned if I was doing the right thing, plagued by doubt and fear of failure. Starting multiple businesses wasn’t easy, especially when I didn’t always have a clear blueprint to follow. I had to navigate so many unknowns, learn from mistakes, and keep going even when things didn’t seem to work out right away.
Balancing the pressure of building something from the ground up while trying to be fully present for my family was one of the hardest things I’ve faced. I’ve had moments where I wondered if I was taking on too much, and the fear of failing both professionally and personally was always in the back of my mind.
But through those tough times, I’ve learned resilience. The doubts and challenges have only pushed me to work harder and stay committed to my vision. Looking back, every sleepless night, every sacrifice, and every moment of fear was part of the process that brought me to where I am today. I’m still learning, but I’ve realized that the road to success is rarely smooth—it’s full of bumps, twists, and turns.
One of the biggest struggles I faced was getting other people to believe in me and sign up for my services. In the beginning, it was hard to convince clients that I could deliver results, especially when I was just starting out. There were moments where I felt like I had to prove myself over and over again, and that doubt from others started to weigh on me.
But what I came to realize was that believing in myself was more important than getting immediate validation from anyone else. I had to remind myself that I knew my stuff—that I had the experience, the knowledge, and the work ethic to make it happen. Once I truly embraced that confidence, “selling” my services became so much easier. I didn’t feel like I had to convince people anymore; instead, I presented what I knew I could do, and the right clients started coming to me.
That shift in mindset—trusting my own expertise—was a game changer. I no longer let the fear of what others thought hold me back. I had to believe in my own capabilities first, and once I did, everything else fell into place. I started attracting the clients who saw the value I offered, and I realized that my success wasn’t tied to anyone else’s belief in me, but my own belief in myself.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The lesson that has been most important to my success is resilience. Throughout my journey, I’ve faced challenges, setbacks, and moments of doubt, but what has kept me moving forward is my ability to adapt, learn, and keep going even when things get tough. Resilience has allowed me to push through long hours, navigate uncertainty, and keep believing in my vision when others might have given up.
It’s also tied to my willingness to constantly learn and grow. I’m always seeking out new knowledge and finding ways to improve myself and my businesses. That ability to keep evolving, paired with resilience, has been key in building the foundation for my success. Without it, I don’t think I could have overcome the obstacles I’ve faced or reached the level of entrepreneurship that I have today.
