Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Casey.
Hi Jessica, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I being my journey as a young teenager mother instilled with the right values and morals. My parents did everything they could to teach me responsibility and compassion for others as well for myself and most importantly the things of GOD. Though I may have made some turns they did not agree with they never condemned me and always showed me unconditional love. No matter how bad I messed up, I knew I had GOD and them on my side helping me back to my feet again. Now that I am a wife, mother of two, two times business owner, as well as an Associates Degree in Paralegal Studies, currently studying real estate and obtaining another degree. I try and bring these ideologies into my everyday life and business affairs. My baby since 2013 has been my Boutique Reveal U & Co, I recently launched the website for purchases and services this past August 28th with a runway show and testimony by my brand ambassador Susan Brookes and the DJ who is a life coach and minister, was speaking life over the mic for the duration of the event; moving in order. By using my parent’s teachings on never staying down and knowing we cannot do life alone, as well as to pull others up as we go and bring all back to the center.
My boutique is to offer a makeover experience and not just a place to purchase clothing. You can be serviced from head to toe with styling suggestions on hairstyles to complement ensembles, accessories, shoes, makeup and much more. I also work hand in hand with my Mother Bonnie Brown’s healing hurting woman’s ministry, with makeovers after undergoing a transformation from the inside out. What other Boutiques and you find familiar and custom designs as well as be styled ministered to and spiritually made over. Every service addition is an option, styling packages offered as well as resources to pull all back together. Though we are starting with women together through a changed mindset and renewed vision, we can get back to the beginning and start Revealing the best in ourselves and those around us. Allow us to Reveal U for any occasion and the confidence to withstand any room you enter.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has certainly not been a smooth road, having my son at 16 made me realize I wanted to make life better for him the moment I saw his beautiful face questioning how could I give such an amazing gift such an inexperienced guardian, though I had not yet made the decision to fix things the right way I went about it with a child’s mindset thinking I would run away to a place where this was more common and no one would look down on me or blame my parents for me being 16and pregnant. None of this ever came from them and they have always done more than enough for my son and I. I tried taking on life by myself at 16 with a newborn, yikes right, teenagers know everything right, wrong! I ended up having four apartments by the time I was 23 and a high school dropout in the workforce. Not making what I wanted, I ended up throwing in the towel and moving back with my parents after many hardships I did not tell them about and messing up my credit and everything tied to my name. No would offer me a job except burger king and I took advantage of every overtime hour they had to get after letting someone wreck my care and putting one in my name for some else that eventually got repossessed from me. I had no transportation either. Of course, my parents pointed me back to GOD and offered comfort and not scolding. They were there and not to say I told you so.
How do you think about happiness?
Seeing the underdog succeed makes me happy because it is a story to be told about a person who overcomes all the odds and becomes successful in their own right and not by anyone else’s standards. Life can steal your joy if you let it but don’t and live a life to be experienced and talked about good or bad. Seeing this in real life people, in movies, reading it in books, and living the experience makes me happy.
