Hi Joe, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
First of all, I did not set out to get into the roofing industry. I actually was afraid of heights and do not like the heat.
But God put me in a position to work in the roofing industry. After working in the roofing industry for many years, I began to see the struggles that property owners were having in dealing with a big-ticket item that they do not understand. I also saw roof companies take advantage of the fact that properties owners don’t understand what is upon their roof.
Every roofing contractor will tell you that they can do any type of job but not every roofer should be doing it. Roof Bids was born out of the need for an honest service to be an advocate for the property owner and find quality roof contractors through a true vetting process.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
When I first started RoofBids, I thought it would be easy to bring marketing and business knowledge to the roofing industry. What I did not account for is the amount of money that roof contractors are pouring into advertising all over the area. Initially, I struggled to find the best path to reach my customers.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Roof Bids is the only true roofing service that provides consultation and advice to property owners while working with only fully vetted and qualified roof contractors. We help all types of property owners, including commercial and residential properties, through the roof project process.
We go to the property to take pictures and measurements and package that up to send out to our trusted Roof partners for them to bid on. Once the bids come back we put them in an easy-to-read format that we call our apples-to-apples comparison sheet. The property owner can see everything lined up and we walk them through product, warranties, price, and potentially unexpected additional expenses.
The property owner then makes a decision on which contractor to go with and we pair the two parties together. We continue to help the property owner to make sure that the project starts on time, the right products are applied, and the job finishes on time. All of this and RoofBids is a free service to property owners.
What matters most to you?
What matters most to us is that a property owner has a positive experience throughout the process of getting one of the most expensive projects completed on their property.
There are some very good roof contractors out there but it is a money-driven business where people can be taken advantage of. We make sure the process is easy, transparent, and trustworthy for the property owner to have peace of mind.
