Exploring Life & Business with Jorge Camero of Carne en Vara Orlando Fl Granja Familiar

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jorge Camero.

Hi Jorge, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
We are a immigrant family, we got to the United States in 2017, Carne en Vara Orlando FL Granja Familiar was born from a hobby of mine because this type of food is typical in Venezuela, and we took the opportunity to try to bring some of our culture and make it our own business. This is a family restaurant, we first opened in December 16, 2017 in the flee market at the OBT, with many dreams and hopes to accomplish and to always keep moving forward with our goals set. Over the years the space at the flee market became a little Venezuelan space for the Venezuelan community in Orlando, because we felt at home. After awhile we began the search trying to find a farm to put our little business in and grow it. After a very long search last year in August 2024 we finally find a place in Davenport, we start working on it and by November 2 we opened. Carne en Vara Orlando Granja Familiar has became something special for the Venezuelan and Latin community including Colombians, Puerto Ricans, Cubans, Dominicans, etc, because since you enter in that dirt road you feel that you’re in a farm in Venezuela or in other cases you home town you feel that nostalgia, the nature environment, the music and the food it just the perfect combination that makes you feel in home no matter where are u from.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It was not a smooth road, because we have to accommodate everything to the laws and regulations that this country has, that differs from Venezuela.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Carne en Vara Orlando Fl Granja Familiar?
