Today we’d like to introduce you to Joshua Hsu.
Hi Joshua, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Once upon a time, everyone you knew languished at multiple jobs, made half-baked ideas with no execution, then went home and doomscrolled to sleep. Observing this phenomena across different service industries, I felt like we needed a Hero to go out and do the darn thing.
The character Hokkaido Hank started as a hypothetical joke when I worked in sushi.
Hokkaido Hank was originally a manifested “East-West” meme (Hokkaido is a northern region in Japan, Hank as a western name), riffing with East-West pop-culture references like “Kill Bill”, “Shanghai Noon”, Gun-Fu flicks (John Wick, Matrix etc). Hank was a mythical stoic figure who would show up at your job, and everyone would gasp at his legendary presence. He would completely outperform you at your task without even trying, then disappear into the ether without a word. Just before he’s gone, Hank would glance back at you disapprovingly, with a deep longing and wistfulness behind his eyes.
Flash forward, I was about 5 years into massage therapy for “big spa”, and was burned out from upsell culture and ridiculous prices that gatekept peoples quality of life.
As I mourned over a bleak future, I heard a faint cowbell ringing from my past, and it slow crescendo’d with every passing week.
Don’t be sad. Become the change. Go rogue. Do it right, Cowboy. THE WORLD NEEDS MORE COWBELL!
So now Hank is out here.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Orlando has the most amazing community in welcoming the
Wellness Sheriff.
Mills/Audubon/Milk District are full of other creatives and small businesses who immediately saw my angle. There’s a rogue cowboy spirit in everyone when making things happen.
Shoutouts to Redlight Redlight, Kaya, The Burrow Cafe and Play, Domu, Gnarley Barley, Zymarium and Milkhouse.
My biggest struggle is that I just cant be everywhere at once since massage isn’t digital…but hey,
that makes it safe from AI.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Ive distilled thousands of hours into an effective combination of swedish and myofascial technique called the “Quickdraw”. It’s the fastest massage this side of Eola designed to slowly but surely melt knots down. My pressure is adaptable to your needs.
For further relaxation, I also do house calls where I bring all the amenities to you (portable table, hot stones, cupping).
All my prices offer a low barrier-to-entry for wellness. I believe self-care shouldn’t cost a premium if it’s for maintenance.
Message me for any work or party events or creative skits 🙂
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?

She tries her hardest and fails magnificently, then smooths it out with some pie.
There’s something magical about being so naive and honest. I cry every time.
Pricing:

- Sunset Rider (10 min); $15
- Home visits (1 hour + hot stones): $90
