Today we’d like to introduce you to Katrina Camaj.
Hi Katrina, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My husband and I have always had a passion for our houseplants and our collection of vintage finds. We started selling repurposed vintage items and plants on Etsy while living in Chicago. After moving back to FL in 2021 we decided to open Frida’s.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been smooth at all! We opened the store on May 1st of 2021 and had only $20 left to our name by the day we opened.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We strive to be a community focused plant shop in Brevard county. We offer a large selection of quality plants and great prices. We also source a huge amount of our products from local makers and artists.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
We have been lucky to be in the right place at the right time. The people we have met and opportunities.
