Hi Kayla and Manny, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Manny and I have always dreamed of owning a business, but our original vision was to open a community center to help teens navigate high school and post-graduation options. With backgrounds in healthcare—I’m a registered nurse with a master’s in mental health, and Manny holds dual master’s degrees in forensic psychology and clinical counseling—our passion has always been helping people navigate life’s challenges.
Our motto is simple: Life is tough, but with the right tools, it becomes manageable. We never planned to acquire Bigfoot Axe Throwers & Rage Room, but when the opportunity came, it felt like a natural fit. Axe throwing and rage rooms provide more than just entertainment—they offer therapeutic relief, whether it’s stress release, frustration management, or quality time with loved ones.
As first-generation business owners, we see this as more than just a business; it’s a platform to give back to our community, provide second chances, and train the next generation of the workforce. Above all, we believe that God led us to this opportunity, and He will continue to guide us as we work to make a meaningful impact.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road has definitely been bumpy. As first-time business owners, we didn’t have a roadmap or mentors to guide us—we were moving blindly. Without a network of business-owning friends or family, navigating the process was challenging, especially when it came to permits and licenses. It was much more time-consuming than it needed to be, but we figured it out, and now it’s knowledge we’re eager to pass on to others.
One of our biggest lessons was understanding the foundational steps of business ownership. If we could give advice to new entrepreneurs, it would be to secure an EIN, LLC, and business bank account right away. Also, having a trusted accountant, lawyer, and broker (if purchasing a pre-existing business) is invaluable. Exploring small business loans and educational resources early on can also save a lot of headaches.
Above all, we’ve learned that integrity is everything. No matter how great your product or service is, without integrity, long-term success isn’t sustainable. Leading with honesty and strong values is what truly sets a business apart.

Bigfoot Axe Throwers & Rage Room has been around since spring 2021, and we officially took ownership in November 2024. We’re known for offering a unique mix of traditional axe throwing with engaging games and a rage room experience that allows people to release emotions without judgment. Our rage room even features a speaker so guests can play their favorite music while letting loose.
What sets us apart is our family-like atmosphere and top-tier customer service. We believe in creating a welcoming space where everyone feels comfortable, whether they’re here to celebrate, de-stress, or just have fun. Unlike many businesses, we don’t see others in our industry as competition—we see them as partners, each bringing something unique to the table.
We’re most proud of our “small but mighty” brand, inspired by the Cambridge definition of “bigfoot”—something powerful, attention-grabbing, and impactful. Our offerings cater to any occasion—corporate events, birthdays, date nights, divorce parties—you name it, we can host it!

What makes you happy?
What makes us happiest is knowing that what we’re doing is bigger than us. Seeing the people in our circle take intentional steps toward conquering big, scary goals inspires us daily.
We find joy in having the overflow to continue helping others—whether it’s giving back to the community, providing second chances, or mentoring the next generation of business owners.
Another huge source of happiness is engaging with our guests. Watching people walk in stressed and leave laughing, feeling lighter, is an incredible feeling. We’ve met some amazing people, heard incredible stories, and built connections that remind us why we do what we do.
At the end of the day, it’s about impact—helping, encouraging, and creating a space where people can let go, have fun, and feel seen. That’s what truly makes us happy.
