Today we’d like to introduce you to Kevin Sebastian.
Hi Kevin, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
My legal name is Brian Keith Blair Jr. I grew up in a small Ohio town and lived there until the age of 19 and moved to Orlando for my sweetheart Tara. And took on the new name of Kevin Diedric Sebastian.
I’ve always been someone who had a passion for technology and even though I’ve always been a huge introvert I’ve wanted to help people through the means of tech, which is where I picked up my passion for Software Development. My first business was called Modnapse, a pretty big and ambitious startup but only in theory. I absolutely knew nothing of business so it never went anywhere. I gave up on it and decided to end my dreams of entrepreneurship.
Years later, I decided that I was more of a ‘be-my-boss’ kind of guy so I decided to take a crack at entrepreneurship again. So I decided to be a freelance software developer and help others achieve their dreams with the apps I could make for them, and so I formed ModnApps LLC.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I’d like to describe my journey as a highway with potholes appearing out of nowhere and you just get more prepared the more you encounter them.
My first startup idea Modnapse was a super ambitious idea that would require technology that just wouldn’t be feasible. It really hurt a lot having it fail. Yet, I don’t regret going through the emotional roller-coaster because it helped me grow as a person, and it also gave me years to think about what I really wanted out of life.
Creating ModnApps LLC was a bit easier, all the tax complications were definitely out of my comfort zone but so worth it in the end.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
ModnApps LLC is a software development business that specializes in decentralized applications or DApps for Fintech and Blockchain startups as well as other businesses. One of the things that set ModnApps apart from others (besides our niche) is that I believe transparency is key in business and there’s only one employee at ModnApps, me.
So you know who you’re talking to, who’s making your product, and there is completely open communication between the client and who is responsible for making your application. Also, programming is something I take a great passion for, it’s not something I just use to pay the bills. And I feel really good knowing that my skills are helping others achieve their dreams.
I believe my favorite part of the ModnApps brand is how high-tech and innovative the apps I make are, yet they are done with care and pride. And that power service quality is completely uncompromising, and fully transparent while also putting people’s ideas on to the App Store and the Blockchain.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
Orlando is a beautiful city, a lot of opportunities, there’s also my school Valencia College which is an amazing place to always be. Great nightlife as well.
My dislikes in Orlando are not unique, mainly the rising prices in rent.
