Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberly Burke.
Hi Kimberly, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started speaking as a little girl in Orlando, FL. I spoke at school and community programs to share my words of wisdom with my peers. As I got older, I saw so many people unhappy with their career choices and they shared stories with me about how they wanted to achieve more in life.
So, I began to inspire my colleagues and community leaders while working in Corporate America in St. Louis, MO by sharing my expertise in goal achievement to equip and inspire people to intentionally achieve their goals. These interactions helped me start my professional coaching company, Queen Kim Enterprises, LLC dba Let’s Grow Institute. For over seven years, I have been the Chief Goal Getter working with my Goal Getter clients as a Best-Selling Author, Global Speaker, and Certified Coach with the John Maxwell Team. It has been an amazing journey that has led me back to my hometown of Orlando during the global pandemic in 2020 and I plan to continue the work of inspiring people to get out of their own way to achieve the things they want in life.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road being a small business owner. People ask me all the time, “Coach Kim, how do you work a 9 to 5, run your business, be active in the community, hang out with friends/family, have a love life, and be a doctoral candidate?” I tell them it takes a lot of willpower. I learned early as a businesswoman that I needed a team. Marketing has always been a struggle for me, so when I am unable to create marketing materials or host marketing campaigns, I pay someone to do it. Also, I tend to lead with my strengths, so if it is something that is critical to the growth of the company, I will invest in the people or programs that will help with areas I struggle in to ensure a successful and sustainable future for Let’s Grow Institute.

My business has evolved over the last seven years, but my brand has always been consistent in the field of goal setting. When people think of goals, people tend to think of me because I am a goal achievement expert. I use my innovative C.O.D.E. formula to aid others in achieving their goals. The C.O.D.E. stands for Clarity, Options, Discipline, and Execution. This is a formula that I am most proud of because I have used these four steps since the age of 16 to plan my life goals and I have achieved all of them. I use this same strategy when I work with career-driven people to help them align their personal and professional brands and intentionally achieve their goals with execution plans. People can work with me in a 4-week intensive coaching program or book me to speak at their events. Additionally, you can read my self-help books about personal development. I have a Best-selling co-authored book, 20 Beautiful Women: Volume 4 and I also have four self-published books The Code to Greatness, The 28 Day Growth Challenge, It’s Growth Time! and Let’s Grow!
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I was always a bookworm. I loved reading, writing poetry, fine arts, and I enjoyed learning new things and meeting new people. I was always a leader amongst my peers and ensured that their voices were heard. I am sure my parents would say that I was a good girl. Overall, I was laser-focused on the cliché of going to college and getting a good job. Now, I am learning to live life in the moment and enjoy the little things.
