Exploring Life & Business with Lelcis Granzoti of Shine Time Home Improvement

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lelcis Granzoti.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Right after my father had passed away at the age of 33 in 1992, I was 13 years old and responsible to take care of my mother and my sister contributing with paying bills, and being the man of the house. I was looking for a job and couldn’t find anything, but someone gave me the idea of putting a BBQ grill in front of the grocery store on the corner of my house to sell churrasco. That was then my first Enterprise – selling beef kebabs on the streets. Few months later I inaugurated a hotdog stand in front of the main university in my hometown back in Brazil. Another six months later I had added another cart selling cocktails on the streets when I was only 16 years old while attending high school. Now, imagine a teenager entrepreneur selling cocktails with fruits and vodka mixed together with condensed milk and crushed ice in a busy downtown area. Well, I had then met someone who offered me a job as a cellphone salesperson when they had just came out in the market. I did so well that this same person invited me to come visit the United States in 1997 when I was only 18 years old. I started up in New Orleans going to school, painting houses, babysitting, and teaching Brazilian Portuguese at the University of New Orleans. I was also delivering pizzas and making them for a French restaurant where I learned how to cook and a lot about wine. To make a long story short, I move to New York in 2000, witnessed the falling of the twin towers, finished college, worked for a bank in Wall Street for 3 years then I decided to open my own business and launched an industrial bakery producing healthy baked goods from scratch and distributing 24 different products with my last name on them all over New York. Ten years later after selling to all over the country through my website and vast distribution, I sold the business and returned to Brazil. So, for the last 30 years, I have had many different types of businesses and have wore different hats. I have built and sold 9 businesses like a restaurant, a fitness club, a very successful tanning company, an auto shop, and worked for a huge Brazilian cosmetic factory as a sales executive. Then, in 2019 I finally returned to the US and as a professional salesperson who has a strong ability to understand and read people while bringing solutions and solving problems, I’ve found myself having a lot of fun and making a lot of money in the solar industry. Therefore, for the last three years, I have been trained intensively through seven different companies in Central Florida as a sales consultant part of the home-improvement industry. Thankfully, I finally realized that I am a sales professional who is in love with the home-improvement industry, especially in the solar one, where I have helped over 1200 families switch to solar power in the state of Florida. Today, at the age of 43, I am very happy, comfortable and money is not my main motivator. What continues to move me is gratitude and how I discover myself daily as someone who loves to learn more and more, share information, solve problems and overcome obstacles.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It obviously has not been a very smooth road; however, it now feels as though it was easier to get here than I thought it would be. But that is due to the person that I was destined to be and today I am. Some of the struggles that I had was to learn how to live with very little during tough times while building those businesses and taking care of my families. As an entrepreneur you work as much as five people, you have no hours, no rest nor choice but to keep going no matter what. I had met and lost a lot of people along the way. I have made many difficult decisions, smart and stupid mistakes and that is exactly how I learned how to get better, stronger, and wiser.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
My business is about helping homeowners execute projects the way they want and have not accomplished them yet. Most homeowners have a hard time finding, first of all, someone they can trust, someone who is an expert, and a company that can provide the necessary customer service and support that everybody deserves. We at Shine Time Home Improvement specialize in roofing, plumbing, electrical works, renovations in general including kitchen and bathroom remodeling. One of our specialties is providing homeowners with the best experience possible when switching into solar power and keeping their systems up and running. I am very proud of our team of professionals and partners that are purposely chosen because of their good reputation and quality in all aspects.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I am well known for being a very curious, clean, organized, and social kid, also very active, Intelligent, and outgoing. In fact, I feel like I am the same kid who is interested in learning martial arts, good food, exotic cars, motorcycles, working out, and practicing self-enhancement in general.
