Exploring Life & Business with Lexa Garrett of CouponingWithLexa,LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lexa Garrett

Hi Lexa , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
About a year and a half ago, in August 2023, I was scrolling through TikTok when I came across a couponing video. At first, I thought it was a scam, but curiosity got the best of me, so I decided to give it a shot. The next day, I tried a Target deal, and it worked perfectly! I was amazed and spent the rest of the night diving into the world of couponing TikTok. I started testing deals at different stores and recording my experiences to share with family. By September, my sister encouraged me to create a TikTok account to help not just my family but the world.

In the beginning, I posted about once a week, mainly focusing on Publix and CVS. I was camera shy and still figuring out how to record and edit content. By January 2024, I had around 5,000 followers and noticed my content was genuinely helping people based on their comments and engagement. That’s when I decided to step it up, posting 3-4 times a week and expanding to more stores.

Since then, I’ve built an incredible community of couponers, and today I have over 106,000 followers on TikTok, 55,000 on Instagram, and 17,000 members in my Facebook group. It’s been an amazing journey, and I’m excited to continue helping people save money through digital couponing!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been mostly smooth, but there have been a few challenges along the way. One of the biggest struggles was balancing my full-time job as a teacher with creating couponing content. Some days, I’m working long hours, and then I have to plan, record, edit, and post content while also bringing my teaching duties home. As my following has grown, I’ve found myself getting a lot of questions in comments and direct messages across all my social platforms, which takes up a lot of personal time—especially on weekends. But despite the challenges, I genuinely love helping and informing the couponing community, and I wouldn’t change it for anything!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
CouponingWithLexa (my business and social media platforms) is all about helping people save money and make the most out of digital couponing. I specialize in providing easy-to-follow, step-by-step couponing tips and deals across multiple stores, such as Target, Publix, CVS, Walgreens, and more. My goal is to take the confusion out of couponing and show my community how simple and rewarding it can be to save on everyday purchases.

What sets me apart is the genuine, relatable approach I bring to couponing. As a full-time teacher, I understand the value of saving time and money, and I create content that speaks to people from all walks of life—whether they’re seasoned couponers or complete beginners. I also take the time to personally engage with my followers, answering their questions and helping them navigate the world of digital couponing.

I’m most proud of the incredible, supportive community I’ve built across my social platforms. With over 106,000 followers on TikTok, 55,000 on Instagram, and 17,000 members in my Facebook group, it’s amazing to see how many people I’ve been able to help save money and make smart shopping decisions. It’s not just about the deals—it’s about empowering others to feel confident and knowledgeable when it comes to managing their finances.

What I want readers to know about my brand is that CouponingWithLexa isn’t just about sharing deals—it’s about building a community where everyone can share tips, ask questions, and get real help. Whether you’re a busy professional, a parent, or just looking to save some extra cash, I’ve got you covered with simple, actionable couponing advice that fits into your lifestyle.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
One surprising thing that most people might not know about me is that I’m actually a full-time 5th grade teacher in Lake County, and I’m 28 years old! While my focus is on couponing, teaching is my main job. I coupon not just for the fun of it, but to help families, because I know what it’s like to need that extra support. Growing up in a lower middle-class family, especially during the 2008 recession, my mom relied heavily on paper coupons to help us make ends meet. I would often help her cut and organize coupons in her binder, and those experiences have stayed with me. Now, I coupon to give back and help others, just like I would have wanted someone to do for my family back then.
