Exploring Life & Business with Ligia Rutinel of Gala Kids Store

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ligia Rutinel.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Since I was a little kid, I’ve always been awed by fashion and couture. As I grew up, I started trending towards owning a dress store. Fast forward to 2018, I started working on creating my vision of owning a High-end, boutique, kid’s store since I was now a mother of one. I started by taking fashion design lessons, partnering up with a fabric supplier and seamstress. I designed my first collection called “Flowers for Mommy” and released it in 2019 a Foreign fashion show in the Dominican Republic and this is how Gala Kids Store was created.

After this, the Covid pandemic started and initially set us back, however, as we started working from home, the pandemic provided the environment to perfect our designs and work on our marketing techniques.

Today, Gala Kids Store has thankfully grown enough to a point where we can reach every corner of the earth with worldwide shipping, therefore opening up a wide variety of markets and clientele that enjoys dressing their kids in a high-end couture, fashion gala style.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. Gala Kids Store is an online business that started from zero not too long ago. We’ve been trying to prove ourselves credible to the eyes of our potential customers.

Even though its 2023, there’s still a wide range of clients that don’t trust online purchases. Creating credibility has been our long-standing battle towards pursuing client acquisition.

Thankfully, social media has been a great tool for this. Most of our clients post images of their kids wearing our designs and that helps tremendously at building a credible online business.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Gala Kids Store is my baby. I’ve been growing it into my full-time job. I personally work every aspect of the business, from Marketing, to Sales and Shipping department. I’m known for being a woman that works on anything, anytime, anywhere.

Our attention to detail, and I mean, the small details in our dresses sets us apart. We strive to have the best quality gowns and dresses in the market for kids.

I’m proud of the reach we’ve been able to achieve in a short time. To think that a little girl in the middle of nowhere in the USA, or somewhere in Europe can be wearing our products, really makes me think of how far we’ve come and that makes me very proud.

Readers should know that even though our designs are posted in our website, we can alter and customize our designs to meet our clients’ needs! I think that makes us unique.

What makes you happy?
When I see kids wearing our designs, that makes me happy. Knowing that the countless hours of dedication put into the dresses are all worth it because somewhere, a girl is turning one and is using our products to be dressed for that ‘once in a lifetime’ occasion.
