Hi Lis, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Photography and travel have always been intertwined passions for me. It’s what led me to start Hidden Atlas Travel, my own travel business. Those cherished family vacation memories sparked the idea to combine my love for photography with my travel endeavors.
Orlando is home for me, my husband, and our two cats, LinaBell and Artemis. The city’s vibrant energy is inspiring. Growing up, Travel was a huge part of my life, and those magical experiences now fuel my desire to create similar moments for others through my camera lens.
Living with an invisible mystery illness has given me a unique perspective on life and community support. That’s why I donate 10% of my photo session proceeds to the Invisible Disabilities Association and the Undiagnosed Diseases Network. It’s my way of giving back and ensuring each photo shoot contributes to a greater cause.
We’ve been impressed with Hidden Atlas, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Hidden Atlas began as my travel company, which eventually blossomed into a brand. While I still design memorable vacations for clients headed to theme parks, cruises, and international travel, I’ve also added my love of capturing special moments for my Florida travelers. In addition to a la carte services, I offer a unique service where travelers can book a professional photo session in their location. This is a service pairing that hasn’t been done before, and I love that I have the opportunity to not only help people reach their destination, but also help keep the memories.
In addition to my services, by donating 10% of all proceeds to organizations like the Invisible Disabilities Association and the Undiagnosed Diseases Network, each photo session directly supports those navigating the challenges of these conditions. It’s my way of using my skills to raise awareness, foster support, and contribute to a cause that’s deeply personal to me.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
Orlando is so ALIVE! I moved here from rural Tennessee, and there is so much to do. It’s impossible to experience everything. You couldn’t pull me from this place if you tried. In terms of what I like least…I’m sure you’ll get the same answer every time: the traffic.
