Today we’d like to introduce you to Manuel Jiménez
Hi Manuel, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am from Bogotá, Colombia. I started studying hairdressing when I was 17. At that time, I did it as a hobby, since entering a university was too expensive and my family could not pay for my studies, so I decided to take up hairdressing as a profession.
It was really a difficult path since I had never touched a hair, or a face, but I really wanted to stand out from the rest.
I started working in low-cost hairdressers to be able to learn. At 19, I took the risk of working in one of the best hairdressers in Bogotá, Antonio Hairdressers. There I made my career and became known with big brands like L’Oréal Professional. At 21, I was selected to represent Colombia in the L’Oréal Color Trophy in Peru. It was a wonderful experience that helped me meet great personalities in hairdressing. The following year, having turned 22, L’Oréal selected me again to represent Colombia in Paris on its 110th anniversary. I really felt like I was in a dream. I couldn’t believe that in such a short time I had achieved so many triumphs. Unfortunately, the COVID pandemic of 2020 arrived and the place where I worked with Antonio had to close. At that time my wife was pregnant, it was a difficult situation, but I kept going, I borrowed money and opened a small color salon, with a lot of effort I began to grow my hair salon, to the point that I had to open a larger location, today 4 years later we have positioned ourselves among the great hair salons in Bogotá
I will soon be 28 years old, it is 10 years of experience, there is still a lot to learn and grow, but trusting in God and life I will achieve it
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I think the most difficult thing has been the pandemic, starting alone without investors, learning along the way how to manage a company.

My hair salon is a place specialized in Color and hair care, it is a small and comfortable place in which our tension is completely personalized
My greatest pride is that it has been an organic brand without investors, the entire process has been freehand and working with my own hands.
What were you like growing up?
I have always been a dreamer, I dreamed of a big place that generated employment, a place where the client got out of the routine, I am still building that dream
