Exploring Life & Business with Marcia Martim of Bis M Salon DBA Blooming Beauty

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marcia Martim.

Hi Marcia, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I was very young when I discovered my passion for beauty. I wanted to make women feel stunning — like the ones I saw in magazines. I dreamed of transforming everyday women into “magazine women,” each one more radiant than the next.

I came from a humble family in São Paulo, Brazil. We didn’t have much, but I always had big dreams. I started working early and was fortunate to get a job in a very elegant company, where I grew fast and became an executive secretary. It was a beautiful chapter in my life — but deep down, I knew I wanted something else. I wanted to become a hairstylist.

So, I left everything behind and followed my calling. I had the good fortune of meeting a remarkable teacher — a Portuguese master stylist who had studied in Europe and opened a prestigious school in Brazil. His passion for geometry, structure, and artistry in hair design completely transformed my vision. I learned everything about the architecture of haircuts and the beauty of precision.

Soon after, I was invited to perform at L’Oréal São Paulo, performing a live show for more than 400 professionals. That was when I truly understood: beauty is an art, and I was born for this.

Years later, I came to the United States and opened the first Brazilian salon in Orlando. It was a challenge — I didn’t speak English yet — but I worked hard, learned, and eventually joined an American salon to grow further. After six years, I was invited to open a new space inside Blooming Beauty at the Millenia Mall. I accepted the challenge, and for 20 years I worked there with great success, serving an incredible and diverse clientele.

During that time, I had the honor of styling several well-known Brazilian artists, including Silvio Santos, one of the most famous television hosts in Brazil, whose hairstyle became a national success. I also styled celebrities featured on Contigo Magazine in Brazil — such as actress Tiziane Pinheiro — and worked for several years with Miss Brasil USA, styling contestants for major pageants from 1997 to 1999. These experiences gave me deep knowledge of stage beauty, photo shoots, and the artistry of transformation.

After all these years of dedication, life brought me a new chapter. The store’s rent became too high, and I couldn’t stay under someone else’s administration. But I never gave up. I kept believing, working, and preparing. Now, after more than a year and a half of negotiations, I’m opening my own Blooming Beauty inside the Florida Mall — a dream finally coming true.

My journey has been full of challenges, but also miracles. I’ve learned that true beauty is born from courage, faith, and the love we put into everything we do.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There are always challenges along the way. The first one was the language — it took me almost eight years to feel confident communicating in English. That alone was a big test of patience and perseverance.

When I was invited to work inside the Millenia Mall, I thought it would be another huge obstacle — but to my surprise, it wasn’t. It turned out to be an incredible and smooth experience, full of growth and success.

The real challenge came later, when the store’s administration couldn’t handle the high rent and we had to close. After twenty years working in such an elegant and energetic environment, it felt like leaving one universe and landing in another — almost like that scene from Back to the Future, when you step into a new world covered in dust, not knowing what comes next.

But I was blessed. My loyal clients stood by me — kind, generous, and faithful people who believed in my work. They became my foundation through that transition. And now, with faith in God and the strength that comes from experience, I’m entering a new phase — opening Blooming Beauty at the Florida Mall.

Every challenge has taught me that faith turns uncertainty into opportunity, and that with courage and love, we always find our way forward.

We’ve been impressed with Bis M Salon DBA Blooming Beauty, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Bis M Salon DBA Blooming Beauty is a boutique beauty brand that blends artistry, precision, and soul. We specialize in modern haircut design, dimensional color, and total beauty transformations — always personalized and guided by elegance, authenticity, and light.

What truly sets us apart is our energy. Every client who walks in feels seen, heard, and celebrated. Our goal is not only to make people look beautiful, but to help them reconnect with their confidence and inner strength.

At Bis M Salon, beauty is an experience — where technique meets heart. We combine European haircut geometry, Brazilian creativity, and American style, creating results that are timeless, natural, and sophisticated.

As we open Blooming Beauty at the Florida Mall, our brand expands into a new luxury experience. We’re building partnerships with professional luxury shoppers and exclusive retail curators to offer our clients not only beauty, but a full lifestyle — elegance, confidence, and joy in every detail.

For us, Blooming Beauty is more than a salon. It’s a place where beauty blooms with purpose, faith, and courage.

How do you define success?
For me, success is balance — between spirit and matter.
In my work, I need to capture what each client’s soul is asking for through her image — to help her feel happy, confident, and truly herself.
To do that, I must be in peace inside, connected, and centered. When that happens, everything flows — and success simply blooms.

Sometimes it’s as simple as seeing a client send me a photo later that night, smiling and glowing, saying she feels beautiful again. That’s success to me: when beauty becomes confidence, and confidence becomes light.
