Today we’d like to introduce you to Maria Teresa Paz.
Hi Maria Teresa, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
It all started when I was 24 years old… I was born and raised in the USA but when I turned 15, I moved to Maracaibo Venezuela, college came and I picked law school as my career, challenging times began as you all may know what Venezuela is phasing, that in the year 2016, I decided to come visit my mom and try enrolling in a career here in the USA, I started my Paralegal studies in Florida international university obtaining my certification in December 2016. In the meantime, I worked for the former Florida hospital as a sterile tech for surgery department, my beloved father knowing that I was soon going to graduate, trusted me to start a business… trust me, I didn’t even know how to start or run… but he trusted me so much that he gave me everything that is needed to start and run what is now Paz Legal Services a family own business, we started in 722 Patrick street in downtown Kissimmee was out first office… right behind Osceola county courthouse, we stayed there for almost five years… Five years of so many challenges… ups and downs and learning so many things… meeting amazing people, but most important you only need just one person to trust you and everything will start to shine… I thank god for my father who is now in heaven… he passed away from COVID 19 this year… after battling three months in hospital… and also want to thank every client that has trusted me knowing at that moment I was so young and as of today, we have grown together…
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road, it’s actually been bumpy specially when you start a business and you try to get people to know you and actually trust your service even when you are so new, dealing with different personalities… The most challenging has been this year from losing my dad and having to be there for my family and all the clients that need me, specially in this era when divorces are on demand.
We’ve been impressed with Paz Legal Services, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

I guess that what sets us apart from others is our age… we are young talented and honest! We love doing our job as if it was for us.
I am proud of what we have conquered… I am proud that we came from nothing and that our hands and mind are God’s instruments to help others.
How do you define success?
How I define success is by going into bed with a mind in peace after a long day at work doing everything to succeed in the service hired for.
