Hi Marisa, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Mermaid Healing Retreats are hosted by “Water = Life” which is a Non-Profit Organization that takes 22% of all profits to purchase AWG 800 Units for communities in need of clean water. Mermaid Healing Retreats are run by Professional Mermaids and Certified Instructors, our mission is to bring together fantasy, spiritual development, and education to create life-changing events and experiences while giving back to our planet.
Our idea started with a passion to support Flint Michigan and Jackson Mississippi by providing Water Generators (AWGs). As professional mermaids, we have a unique connection to water conservation that we wanted to put to use for a good cause. By teaming up with the Moses West Foundation, we found the perfect match to bring our fundraising goals to life. Together, we can help make a positive impact where it’s needed most.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Individuals can transform themselves and also make a positive impact on the world around them.
It’s a simple concept often overlooked, but one that is at the core of our mission: to empower people to transform themselves while also contributing to a greater cause. When we take care of ourselves, we are better equipped to care for others and make a difference in the world.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am Co-Founder of Mermaid Healing Retreats but I am also CEO of Divine Tides Productions, a Florida-based mermaid entertainment business. We specialize in parties and events, but our services extend to education and more. Our mermaids are certified Red Cross CPR Certified and have various diving certifications (F.I.I. Freedive and PADI Scuba Certifications).
Safety is always our top priority. Our mission is to help people believe in magic again, to learn how to heal naturally; to spread awareness of ocean and spring conservation; to help protect the environment; and to educate the world.
For us, being a mermaid is not just about looks, an immersive experience meant to be shared with audiences far and wide.
We all have different ways of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Achieving success means pursuing your own unique path to happiness and joy, and sharing that joy with those around you.
Success is not about meeting someone else’s expectations or conforming to someone else’s definition of satisfaction.
It’s about carving out a life that feels fulfilling and meaningful to you and then using that energy and passion to inspire and empower others.
