Exploring Life & Business with Mason Gregory of GREGORY ARCHERY

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mason Gregory.

Hi Mason, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I have always been fascinated with Archery as a child. As I got older, I bought my own equipment and started practicing in my backyard. YouTube videos weren’t very helpful though. There are meticulous measurements that are specific to each archer in order to be able to shoot properly. My form was all off, my equipment wasn’t right. It was difficult to figure out what I needed and how to shoot correctly. I was low on funds so I decided to seek a job in the industry. I eventually went on to become a certified instructor by US Archery and worked my way up to the manager position at a local archery range. While working there I learned everything I needed, to not only shoot, but to teach and outfit archers with proper equipment as well. I’ve taught over a thousand people how to shoot a bow and arrow. Adults, Kids, Cops, Firefighters, you name it. In my division I am now ranked 3rd in the state of Florida & 102nd in America. I have since branched off to start my own mobile archery business – GREGORY ARCHERY. Not everyone gets to wake up each day, do what they love to do, and teach others to love it too. I am very blessed and thankful for where my journey has brought me.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Looking back at my journey to become an archery coach, I have had a few struggles… like anyone. It has been a long process but overall, I feel like it’s been a pretty smooth ride. It’s hard to point out the rough patches when you truly love what you do. I’d say they were more like learning curves & teachable moments.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
When you schedule a lesson with GREGORY ARCHERY you get the total package. We come straight to your home address or event location and set up an entire archery range within minutes. We offer private lessons, group lessons, & lesson programs. We love working events and birthday parties as well. Recently I have even introduced archery tag to our list of services which is loads of fun and completely safe. All of our instructors are certified by US Archery as well as the U.S. Center For SafeSport. A number of them are award winning archers and they all specialize in their own genre of the sport. Although, what we are truly known for teaching is barebow recurve. Keeping the tradition alive, we don’t typically enjoy teaching people to shoot with sights, stabilizers, clickers, etc. Just the bow & the arrow like people have shot for thousands of years.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I don’t typically believe in luck. I believe in hard work and getting help from the big man upstairs.

Everything happens for a reason.
