Today we’d like to introduce you to Nadege Wilson
Hi Nadege, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born in the Republic of Congo, Central Africa.
I come from humble beginnings, where my parents were in various businesses. When I was very young, I moved to France and thus was exposed to a world of Art and Fashion. My mother was an avid lover of old Hollywood, a true fashion lover I believe she instilled that in me.
I used to collect fashion magazines such as Vogue, Elle, and Bazaar. and made collages of different looks.
In my teens I wore designer clothing like I had dreamed of – Karl Lagerfeld, Jean Paul Gaultier, Charles Jourdan, Ines De Lafressange just to name a few.
In 1996 I had an opportunity to come to the United States where I could follow my dream holding a BA in Marketing & Economics and I speak multiple languages. Once in America, I went back to school to get a second BA in Fashion Merchandising and Retailing from CCSU in New Britain CT.
I have worked for many luxury goods retailers such as Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Ave, and Nordstrom. Held positions such as designer specialist, business manager, cosmetics manager, and personal shopper.
I have been in the fashion industry for over two decades.
In 2015 I opened my boutique Ce Tres Chic boutique, where I sell women’s clothes & offer fashion consulting services and personal shopping.
During COVID-19 with so much available time, I started a YouTube Channel where I blog about my passion (Fashion).
Today my channel has over nine hundred thousand (900K) viewers. I try to take every opportunity as a blessing. When Orlando International fashion Week asked me to join their fashion board of directors, it made sense, since I had been a fashion judge for Fusion Fest Orlando years prior.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No. Most of the struggles are mainly around available time, I still work full time and also have a family so the little I get I have to work on my businesses. Since I am also a fashion influencer, which means I have to travel several times out of the country or town for “Fashion Week” yearly. To answer your question [ Time is the struggle ]
