Exploring Life & Business with Nicole Burgner of The Gut Detox Coach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Burgner.

Hi Nicole, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
Before I share a bit about my story, I want to share that I am known as The Gut Detox Coach, addressing IBS, weight gain, fatigue, and autoimmune issues through a root cause approach. I focus on God through all that I do, garden, cook, and enjoy serving alongside my husband at our church’s student ministry. But let’s dive in…

Ever since childhood, my chronic sinus congestion, hormone imbalance, and digestive problems were “just a Nicole thing.” No doctor could ever tell me why I suffered with these problems but could only offer a pill or procedure.

Similarly, after getting married, I jumped off the pill (OBC) and immediately had fatigue, amenorrhea, and chronic constipation. Jumping from doctor to doctor and on and off of medications, I only got worse. Despite my downward spiral (IBS, dizziness, fatigue, infertility, depression, anxiety, brain fog, etc), I was confident there was an answer out there for me. Eventually, through a ton of research, after going through several different practitioners, and spending tens of thousands of dollars, I learned about the root cause of diseases and health ailments.

Having learned about my own body and answers toward enhanced energy, no IBS, cleared sinuses, vanquished anxiety and depression, balanced hormones and thyroid, and a myriad of other symptoms, I knew how to help others get my same outcome: better health.

This experience paved the way toward my becoming a certified functional medicine coach detective. Today, I help people restore their health sustainably by giving them the attention, accountability, education, and direction that they need.

I invite the dismissed cases. I thwart the band-aid approach mindset. I help people to be heard and get the results that they’ve sought for too long. Depression, anxiety, fatigue, brain fog, digestive distress, clinging weight … These are all just symptoms of an underlying cause. No doctor ever thought or knew how to properly test me for these symptoms until I found the right guidance and instruction. Pulling all of this together, I teach my clients the right path – their right path.

Today, I am nearly fully restored. My GI tract is better regulated, most all symptoms are gone, and we’re pregnant with a baby girl! Healing IS possible.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It was a VERY difficult road to travel. Health is something that a lot of us take for granted and when you lose it, you realize just how fortunate you were. It was also difficult to find out why my body was so sick and how to help it to heal.

However, the journey has been beautiful, having grown closer to God and gained a better sense of patience, generosity, and empathy toward others.

Business was also difficult, since I started before I had recovered. I spent the energy I could on my clients, but had to also focus on myself first.

God has been blessing business and I continue to follow His lead, in helping others on their healing journeys.

As you know, we’re big fans of The Gut Detox Coach. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I am a functional medicine health coach, using a natural and integrative approach. I help my clients address the root causes of their health issues, including, but not limited to IBS, weight gain, fatigue, and autoimmune conditions. After battling and overcoming an arduous journey of chronic lyme disease, IBS, and infertility (to name a few), I am able to truly empathize with my clients about the daily struggles of health and trying to tap into the body’s innate healing abilities. The goals in my programs include teaching and training my clients to be their best health advocate as well as be equipped to help their bodies heal; there is always an end goal. I base the Lord God at the center of all that I do and pray for my clients’ healing, while also guiding them with the right steps toward healing.

I offer a 30-day gut reset for short-term health issues and needs as well as a 6-month full body detox and restoration program for more chronic conditions. It takes time for the body to heal itself, but there are concrete steps that must be taken to get that end result.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
