Exploring Life & Business with Nora Gamboa of Mpire Real Team

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nora Gamboa.

Nora, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
When I was single mom of three, I have had every job you can imagine. When the pandemic hit in 2020 I was laid off from the stable, full time office job I had so I quickly switched gears to entreprenuership. I used my degree in fashion design and sewing skills to start hand made face masks. This got my family through the beginning of the pandemic. After working off jobs here and there I finally decided to take my fathers advice and get my real estate license. It was the hardest thing Ive ever done in my life but in October of 2021 I passed my exam and became a licensed Realtor. I am still very new to the business and learning everyday but I have a great team and support system around me every step of the way.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been an extremely rough road. When I got laid off in March of 2020, my partner was laid off shortly after so we were both unemployed, trying to support a family of 5. The year that commenced was full of stress and fear but we kept pushing through. When I made the choice at the start of 2021 to start the 63-hour online Real Estate course, I had no Idea it would be as hard as it was. I found myself struggling to juggle working, studying, completing the courses and taking care of my family. I never had a quiet place to focus at home so I would go to the local library whenever I could. There were many days I was sitting on my bathroom floor trying to potty train my toddler or cooking dinner with my lap top right there, going through my course. I would study while I was driving any where by listening to study guides on youtube. The day I took my test was a nightmare. My youngest son was up all night very sick. The computer I was going to use was not compatible with the software, there was a power outage, the webcam was not working… but I did it. I passed the test, joined the top brokerage in the country and helped launch a brand new team out of our branch office. Now I have excellent mentors and clients and my career is growing and thriving.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
The most important thing in the world to me is taking care of my family. Providing for their every needs and setting their futures up for success. I never want them to struggle and suffer in the ways I did but I also want them to have an appreciation for a good work ethic.
