Exploring Life & Business with Regina Roth of Regina Roth Curls

Today we’d like to introduce you to Regina Roth.

Hi Regina, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My journey to becoming a hairstylist in Orlando definitely wasn’t traditional. I actually started out in college, thinking I was going to become a sports doctor, but I really struggled there. Deep down, I knew I wanted to do something big and impactful, but struggled to fit in with the college routine/requirements. Eventually, I made the tough decision to leave college even though it went against what my parents hoped for me. I decided to pursue a career in hair full-time even though it was just my fun, side-hobby I had since high school.

I graduated from cosmetology school in November 2021 in Gainesville and went from working as an assistant to a stylist in a few months. A few months later I became fully booked as a new stylist and grew my business to the point where I felt the need to move to a bigger city to pursue more opportunities for growth.

That’s what led me to move to Orlando last year! I worked at a salon here for a few months, grew to fully booked again, and then at the beginning of 2025, I finally made the leap I’d never thought I’d do to go independent and open up my own suite. Since then, things have really taken off!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not necessarily a smooth road. My whole journey unfortunately has been filled with people telling me that my dreams were not achievable for someone like me, or where I’m from. Again, I’m from pine hills and I think people are used to underestimating women of color. So although at the time, those doubts and voices did lead to depression, anxiety and insecurity, my faith and the hopes and dreams inside of me kept me going. I wasn’t going to let people speak a negative future or outcome over my life.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Hi! I’m Regina Roth. I am a curly hair specialist and content creator based in Orlando, Florida close to winter park, and I work with all natural textures ( mostly type 2 to 4 curls). I’m passionate about helping everyday people feel more confident in their natural curly hair, especially if they’ve had frustrating or traumatic experiences in salons before. My goal is always to create a safe, welcoming space where people feel seen, heard, understood, and truly beautiful in their natural hair. I offer services where I educate clients hands on how to style their curls in a way that is science based but realistic and isn’t complicated.

Since starting my business, this year, I’ve been able to grow to over 70k followers on instagram, 56k on TikTok and also have growing communities on YouTube and Facebook! Ive grown my business to over six figures. I’ve also gotten opportunities, seen doors open, and blown past goals that younger me would’ve never dreamed of for a little girl from pine hills. My content currently is mainly focused on educating and empowering people with curly hair to truly understand and care for their curls. I believe every person deserves to feel like their hair is a gift, not a problem to be fixed.

I know I’m just getting started, as it’s officially been just a year since I’ve been here, but I can already see how God is using my platform to impact lives in a deeper way. And that’s honestly what motivates me the most and means the world to me, the opportunity to help people achieve more for themselves whether that’s hair, or in life.

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
One of my favorite childhood memories was at my grandmas house when we would have family gatherings and she would cook the most amazing mac and cheese and we’d have an amazing Guyanese spread of food! Learning how to bake bread and make curry chicken from my mom is also a core memory of mine!
