Today we’d like to introduce you to Ryan Plaza
Hi Ryan, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Ryan plaza is the kid who moved to Florida in the second grade with just a backpack of things from NYC. A creative at its truest form, from feeling deeply to looking at things from a different lenses. In the search for passion and purpose life has lead me to many amazing people and experiences. Growing up without a father put me start a quest to learn from leaders around me. This started me on a quest for mentorship, they say standing on the shoulders of giants you can see further and i embodied that. The journey started getting deep right after highschool finding my first mentor. this starts the shift. This mentor was in his 60s though so it made me think i can make it in life but maybe by that age. Moving to orlando I found myself introduced to the concept of a mastermind. This put me around kids my age but with a totally different mindset they had the mindset like my mentors. This is the start of the ryan we know now.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My journey started off rough, moving to Florida with just a backpack of things puts you behind mentally. My mother was in a relationship we had to get away from. so from one day to the next my whole life changed. Then in the 6th grade I stopped talking to my dad. So going from visiting him every summer and having him in my life to not speaking to him for years. I also wasn’t the best in school so this put forward its own set of challenges.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about NEWRICH COFFEE COMPANY?
By day I am in the mortgage industry, I recruit and develop talent for our mortgage company. By night I run a coffee company to honor my grandfather. This is what I am most proud about right now. In august we went to the mountains of Puerto Rico and scoured an incredible coffee bean to launch our business with. NEWRICH Coffee Co. draws inspiration from our grandfather, who was never without a cup of coffee. Our shared love for espresso led him to introduce me to the richness of black coffee, igniting my passion for that perfect morning boost. To honor his legacy, we carefully source single-origin beans from the stunning mountains of Puerto Rico. Our mission is to create a bold, flavorful cup that fuels your daily grind—enjoy it straight or with a hint of sweetness. We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
Growing up I would take trips with my grandparents a lot up the east coast. We would go back to NYC and go to south Carolina a couple times of years. I would enjoy the rest areas even more when my cousins came along for the trip.
