Today we’d like to introduce you to Ryon Jason.
Hi Ryon, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My career started in luxury automotive branding with Mercedes-Benz, where I had the opportunity to work on some of the brand’s most high-profile projects. One of the biggest was the reintroduction of the Maybach after a four-decade hiatus from the U.S. market. It was an incredible experience to help shape the branding of such an iconic name and position it for a new generation of ultra-luxury buyers. I was also involved in branding the AMG performance line and the GUARD portfolio, which focused on ballistic-proof vehicles for high-profile clients—a unique niche in the luxury space.
From there, I joined Ford Motor Company and was ultimately asked to contribute to the global rebranding of Lincoln Motor Company. At the time, Lincoln was in the midst of a transformation, shifting from a legacy American luxury brand to a forward-thinking global leader in automotive excellence. It was a major effort to redefine what Lincoln stood for, and it was rewarding to see the brand evolve into something fresh, modern, and uniquely its own.
After Lincoln, I was recruited by Universal Parks & Resorts to oversee U.S. Partnership Marketing. My team developed co-branded marketing initiatives with major brands like Coca-Cola, American Express, and American Airlines, creating partnerships that blended the excitement, influence, and reach of Universal’s theme parks with that of other industry leaders. It was all about finding creative ways to enhance the guest experience while driving revenue and brand affinity.
Then in 2020, I was approached by a group of senior hotel executives and developers to design and brand luxury hotels. That moment changed everything. I launched 1SEVENTY1 as a development partner and branding agency for our resort hotel projects, but before long, we realized the demand for our expertise extended far beyond hospitality. So, we expanded 1SEVENTY1 into a client-facing branding agency, working across industries to help businesses define who they are, how they connect with their audiences, and how they grow.
Looking back, the common thread throughout these experiences has been building brands that don’t just look good but mean something. Whether it’s a hotel, a luxury car, or a global entertainment brand, the goal has always been to create something people connect with in a real way. That’s what drives us at 1SEVENTY1—helping brands stand out, tell their story, and build lasting impact.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road to where I am today has been more winding than straight, but each twist and turn has presented tremendous opportunities. My career has spanned several industries—from luxury automotive to theme parks and hospitality—but with each, I’ve been able to grow and take on new challenges that have shaped me into who I am today.
One of the biggest shifts in my career came when I transitioned from working within large organizations to founding 1SEVENTY1. Moving from enterprise to building an agency was a significant change. But that shift opened up a world of possibilities.
Starting 1SEVENTY1 gave me the freedom to create a vision, craft our unique approach to branding, and work with clients across a variety of industries. It’s been incredibly rewarding to see the agency evolve and know that we’re building something meaningful from the ground up.
Looking back, each chapter in my career has been a stepping stone, and the journey has been full of moments where I could take what I’d learned and apply it in new, exciting ways. I’m grateful for every opportunity that’s come my way. I imagine that others within our organization feel the same.
