Exploring Life & Business with Shantel Walters of Shantel Alesia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shantel Walters.

Hi Shantel, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
From an early age, I knew fashion was my calling. It was never just about wearing clothes—it was about creativity, confidence, and the power to transform how people feel about themselves. I’ve always had an eye for style, and that passion naturally led me into the world of luxury retail around 2012, where I gained in-depth knowledge of designer brands, quality materials, and the art of building lasting relationships with clients.
In search of a “stable, normal” career, I explored several different paths that others recommended to me. But after pursuing everyone else’s idea of success, I realized something was missing. I decided to lock in and focus on what came naturally to me—creating eye-catching looks that tell a story.
I began sharing my work on social media, which opened doors to styling opportunities with cast members from popular reality TV shows. That drive and persistence led to my first major styling gigs on Basketball Wives Orlando followed by Love & Hip Hop Miami, where my ability to blend trend-driven fashion with timeless appeal truly came to life. Following that, I gained hands-on experience interning for renowned celebrity stylist J. Bolin.

My goal as a stylist is to create fashion-forward looks that leave a lasting impression. I’ve had the privilege of working with professional clients, photographers, and creatives—each collaboration tailored to the unique personality, purpose, and vision behind it.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Absolutely not. This journey has truly been a testament to my faith. There have been many highs and lows, but each experience has strengthened me and deepened my resilience.
In this industry, there’s no set blueprint—just a lot of learning through trial and error. One of my biggest challenges has been navigating the networking side of things—figuring out how to get in the right rooms with major brands and PR teams to share and position my services effectively.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Shantel Alesia is more than just a styling brand — it’s about helping people step into their power through fashion. I truly believe style is one of the most personal forms of self-expression, and my mission is to help professionals, athletes, and creatives show up confidently and intentionally in every space they walk into.
With a background in celebrity and television styling, I’ve learned how to create looks that strike the perfect balance between elevated and effortless. I specialize in curating wardrobes that feel authentic, polished, and tailored to each client’s unique lifestyle — whether they’re on camera, on stage, or just navigating everyday life.
What sets me apart is my approach. I don’t just focus on clothes; I focus on confidence. Every look I create tells a story — one that empowers my clients to feel like their best selves.
I’m most proud of the authenticity behind my brand. I started this journey from pure passion, and seeing it grow into something that helps people transform how they see themselves is incredibly fulfilling. From styling on shows like Basketball Wives and Love & Hip Hop to working with entrepreneurs and influencers, every project is a chance to make fashion feel both aspirational and attainable.

I want readers to know that my goal isn’t just to make you look good — it’s to help you feel unstoppable.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Something most people don’t know about me is that I actually tried to take a completely different career path before fully committing to fashion. For a long time, I was chasing what felt like the “safe” or “normal” route, even though styling had always come naturally to me. It wasn’t until I finally stopped ignoring my gift and took that leap of faith that everything started to align.
Another thing people might not realize is how much intention goes into every look I create. It’s not just about clothes for me — it’s about storytelling, energy, and helping someone see themselves differently. Every detail has purpose.
