Hi Alexander, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
People refer to me as Duelist in the gaming community. When I started college, I wrote a report on the Gamification Theory for my honors English class. The concept is adding to engage with consumers, employees and partners to inspire collaborate, share and interact. I wanted to show people can come together with multiplayer games to do something good. I was able to get approval from the campus president at the time to host a charity & raised $500. From there, I wanted to continue hosting events & my business partner Arris Whittaker was able to get the owner of a Hookah shop called Juicy Hookah Lounge to start hosting gaming tournaments & events there. We continue to grow & now host at a LAN center called Ready Game Begin with multiple events hiring us such as Holiday Matsuri, CEO & more.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
In the industry we are in, there is not a lot of monetary gain from it. Very few, honestly 1% of the people, would be able to live off from just hosting events. We were told before that we should give up on our path & focus on what people consider a “real” job. Thing is, we were happy on what we are doing so we continue to do so. Thanks to that determination, we have a dedicated player base that supports our events to the point they can fund themselves.
We’ve been impressed with Juicy Game Night, LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Juicy Game Nights mission is to bring the gaming community in the Central Florida area to practice, have fun, and gain experience. We specialize in event organizing for players all over the state of Florida to enjoy. We host multiple weekly & monthly events for players to enjoy & improve for larger events that could get them to more opportunities.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
We like how we can interact with different kinds of people as tourism continues to flourish in Florida. However, we have limited options to host since venues would not have the proper size we need & be very expensive to utilize.
