Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Emmons.
Hi Amanda, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, my career was primarily focused on the live events industry. However, when the industry came to a standstill, I pivoted to offering travel concierge services for visitors to Florida. From mid-2020 through 2023, the state experienced a significant influx of out-of-state travelers, driven by more relaxed mandates, remote work flexibility, and evolving school arrangements.
During this period, I worked as a freelance consultant for several companies, providing personalized travel and lifestyle services. In 2024, after adopting our French Bulldog, Mocha—who began accompanying me to work due to her separation anxiety—I was inspired to launch Mocha and Company. This venture not only allowed me to manage my own business but also created an opportunity to give back to local animal rescue organizations throughout Florida.
In many ways, the timing aligned perfectly, and the transition has been both professionally fulfilling and personally meaningful.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like many new businesses, the initial stages of building Mocha and Company came with their share of challenges. Meeting the demand for grocery and catering deliveries was difficult, especially as we navigated staffing shortages. At the same time, we were managing daily operations, refining our growth strategies, and working to establish a consistent presence on social media—all with limited resources.
It wasn’t until the past six months that we began to feel a true sense of stability, as we adapted to fluctuations in the economy and shifts in tourism trends. I’m proud of how we’ve navigated those hurdles. Today, we’re supported by a dedicated and growing team, our brand recognition is steadily increasing, and—most importantly—we’re genuinely enjoying the journey.

I founded Mocha & Company upon recognizing a significant gap in local travel and life experience services in Orlando. Drawing from years of expertise in customer service, social media, and vacation rentals, along with my partners we created Mocha & Company to elevate the way visitors and residents experience Central Florida. Whether it’s premium grocery and goods delivery, curated meal and party kits, or marketing and travel packages for investment property owners, our mission is to provide originality, professionalism, and reliability—ensuring every guest enjoys the ultimate Florida experience.
Who is Mocha?
Mocha, our Chief Bark Officer and founding member of Mocha & Company, is a rescued French Bulldog living her best life in the heart of Orange County. As the face of our brand, she plays a vital role in assisting with travel services while also raising awareness for local rescue organizations. Whether she’s helping deliver groceries, overseeing the labeling of our pre-made kits, or simply basking in the Florida sunshine, Mocha brings joy and dedication to everything she does.

While it may not come as a surprise, many of our clients are drawn to Mocha and Company not only for our services, but also for our deep connection to animal rescue—and, of course, because of Mocha herself. She’s become something of a local and social media favorite, and we’re hopeful that her growing visibility will continue to raise awareness for rescue organizations across Florida.
On a personal note, having Mocha by my side each day has brought an incredible sense of joy and purpose to the work we do. Whether we’re supporting guests from Walt Disney World to Universal Studios and beyond, her presence reminds us why we do what we do. I truly can’t imagine this journey without her gentle, loving spirit as a daily companion.
